Lots on the list I never thought would retire!
Mini Mates and Nice and Easy Notes I thought were there for good, Shocked to see those onthe list.
Also a lot of ones that are so popular, Snowflakes and Happy Winter.
I feel like it is an end of an era to have some of these, what I considered as "basics" going!!

I wonder how they choose - based on past sales, style, what? hmm

I'm not totally surprised by Snowflakes, I had already thought that they might when they came out with the Snowflake Spot last year. But I have to agree about Roses in Winter and In Full Bloom.

I saw the list first thing this morning and I am shocked at how much is going. I still can't get over it.
Part of me is happy because that means lots more new stamp sets. But since I plan on signing up to be a demo this month, I'm a little bummed that so many cool sets are retiring and I won't be able to demo them!
Looks like it will be an expensive summer...

Funny, these both have been on my wish list *forever*, I just never got around to getting them. They kept getting pushed down on the list, now I guess I'll have to splurge!!

LOL ~~ I don't even have Riveting & it's retiring. I was hoping it would be in the next catty so I could buy it ~~ I don't have any local stamping friends, so I've never had a party to earn it
(poor me!! LOL!!)

Yikes, if you are a demo, we feel your pain! Don't lose hope, we're sure the new catty will be AWESOME!

Don't worry! Once Riveting is officially retired, I bet you'll be able to buy it pretty easily on the B/S/T Forum here.

I was surprised by a lot of the things retiring, too. A lot of things were just introduced last year! And, yes, also the old standbys. But, I'm hoping they will replace them with new sets - a new coffee set, new dog and cat sets - yeah!

I was suprised by Happy Hearts. For some reason that's the first set I think of when I hear Stampin' Up! I have no idea why.
It's cute, maybe I should buy it.

I'm thinking that "Like It A Latte" will make the big catty and take over as the new coffee set. Just a thought.

Any demos know if the new catties (with the new format) will be the same size as the current catty? That's the first thing that came to my mind when I saw how much is retiring. Maybe they're making the catty a little smaller?

It is crazy how many sets are on the list. I guess that means there will be a lot of NEW sets for us to play with. It is a shame though...I want to buy so many of these sets but it is not to good for business if you buy sets that your customers can't buy anymore. You can't really use them for demos!
I will have to by picky as to which sets I will get!
I wonder what the new catty will have even more now?????

If you've already invested in many of those, then, yes--that's one of the hits demo'rs endure.
On the plus side, if they are not sets you own yet, at least you won't have poorly invested, business-wise, because you know now what to avoid both for your kit, and future purchases, UKWIM?

Previously, someone mentioned that the new one will be 48 pages lighter than the current one.

Are they doing a separate list for the sets in the minis? I know in the past they've said they're not putting the mini sets into the big catty, but at the same time they've put them in there in the past! I'm just wondering as I didn't see any of the sets in the minis (the ones that I remember the names of that is) on the retiring list.
I'm just hoping for lots of truly new sets and new designs. I like to see different things!

The new fall/winter collection will be a 200 page catalog.. so 50 pages less. BUT there will be a second 200 page catalog in January which will have even MORE sets..
so much exciting stuff. I am really glad to see some stuff go.. NIce and Easy notes for example. Some of it was so dated.

They have said in the past that some, but not all of the mini sets will make it to the new catalog.. but we don't know that until the catalog shows up in our hands. I am hoping for a lot from the minis because there were SO MANY good sets in the minis this year. I bought more out of them than the big catalog this year.

I bought more out of the minis too! They really did put out some great new sets in the minis. Well, I guess it's good that with this month's stamp club I'll finish buying what I want from the minis!

All I know is November is my month at my stamp club...hoping they will hold off on the mini until, oh, October so I can earn a good set or two as hostess. I have to give up on Baskets full of fun and argyle. Is there anyone else trying to comfort themselves with the idea that if you don't buy "all" the retiring sets you want, you'll feel that much better when you want lots from the new catalogs? I wasn't super impressed with last years catalog, so I'm crossing my fingers this year.

Autumn leaveprints is so pretty I don't understand that one at all. This is such an awesome set of leaves. Good thing I bought it . Still way too many going way more than I ever expected. But yet there are those who still stayed and don't know why. In the wild could of gone and a few others.

OK, I don't have a ton of stuff on the list that I want... But... The one set that kinda gave me pause (this is silly, so bear with me) was Sketch It. Not because I have ever wanted it, but because it was the very first stamp set I ever saw demoed... So I guess you could say that, although I don't own the set, it's the set that started it all for me!!!

I thought I heard that heartwrenching sob from you clear out here in Utah! My deepest sympathy to you, my friend. I do hope you'll keep making beautiful masterpieces with it.

I saw a RIW at a garage sale for like $3 once and didn't get it. I regretted it and went back but of course it was gone because some girl who knows how to shop came along. It still makes me sad to this day.

I am sad to see IFB and RIW go, also Love without end because it was my first set (even though I have never used it). But on the upside I am happy to say bye to the knobbly gnomes and the motorcycle santa and those wisecrack kids.

I just went through the catty and crossed off the retiring sets. I was just amazed at the few stamp sets that are left. I think there is only one vintage set, and a lot of the flower sets are gone. It should be interesting to see what replaces some of our old favorites. One thing: I have to eat a little crow, as I thought they'd retire "Lovely as a Tree" and replace it with "Trees Three". I'm glad I was wrong, as that is such a versatile set.

I am just blown away by the number of sets they are retiring. I could barely read the page numbers on the list to be able to mark them in the catalog..... wow,,,,,, it will be interesting to see the new catty and thankgoodness, there arent too many that I still want.
