Default Looks Like Spring punch w/o the stamp set?

Looking for some opinions please....

I'm thinking of getting the flower punch that goes with Looks Like Spring and getting the papers....but not the stamp set.

The set hasn't really done it for me but I like the papers and the punch. Do you think I'll regret not getting the stamps as well? What do you all think?

TIA

The punch is great by itself. I have the set, too (I have a hard time resisting a pretty flower set), but think the punch stands on its own.

I have the DS paper and the punch, not the stamps, I love the set, but don't plan on getting it. I have so many flower sets, I didn't get bouquet from last summer mini, soooo hoping it is in the new catalog, not long to wait now, ladies!

A friend was visiting on Monday and she punched out quite a few flowers from my scrap CS and put the whole colorful batch into a baggie to take home. Looked pretty even without any assembly... LOL!

I am using the punched piece as a stencil for backgrounds..will post over the weekend...I use the piece that has been punched along with the chalk, or you could use paint or ink as well...another use for a scrap.

I am going to punch some mylar...then it will last a little longer....

Personally for me, there have been a few times that I have passed on a stamp set only to regret it later, try and find someone who is willing to part with it, and a time or two paying more for it. I am also a punch fanatic so this one could go either way for me. When I first saw the set, I was not the least bit impressed with it, the only stamp in the set I did like was the mini print pattern background. Now that there are HEAPS of samples posted in the gallery, it has really grown on me. I decided to order it before the mini ended, if it's not in the new catty and I change my mind about it, I can always come here and know I can swap it or sell it. With that being said, a punch is a punch, is a punch! I think you can create many things with the punch all on it's own and still be happy. Sorry for rambling, I hope this helps!

I'm planning to order just the punch. I figure that I use the daisy punch all of the time without a matching stamp set, so, I could use this one too.

I just got the stamps as well as the punch and have used the punch more than the stamps. As a matter of fact, my high school daughter found the punch and used it to decorate a project. It looked great when she was done.

I did exactly that. I really wanted the punch and the paper, and just couldn't afford the stamp set as well. So I decided I'd wait to see if it was in the new catalogue and if I still wanted it, I could always buy it then.

Meanwhile, my punch and paper are waiting for me at my demo's. Gotta get over there...

I ordered just the flower punch. There are so many uses for it, I felt the stamp set was almost redundant.

Personally, the set, if used with the backgrounds, and added punched flowers, is too overwhelming for me.

If just the daisy is used on a simpler card, it is great.

Or if the background is used, in some other way, it is great.

They are all super stamps, just if used, all together, my eyes cross and I feel like I have been to Chuckie Cheese for 3 hours.....

Thanks for all the thought ladies!

I think that if there was also a punch for the largest flower of the set, I would definitely get the stamps as well. I love the large daisy when it's cut out but I would never take the time to cut it out myself!

You probably don't want to hear this ( ) but I waffled on the stamp set, too. Had to have the papers, the punch, but... stamps, too? Wasn't that overkill? And only the big flower really "spoke" to me out of that set.

Well, I decided to give the stamp set a try, and now I love it so much that I have trouble reaching for anything else to use on a project! It turned into the one stamp set that would have to be pried out of my cold, dead hands before I give it up.

Do you know someone (like your demo) who has the set and would be willing to let you borrow it for a try-out? Or try browsing the Looks Like Spring section of the gallery and see if it makes your mind up one way or another.

You think like I do! I ordered JUST the punch shortly after it first came out, figuring I've got way too many flower sets already to spend the $$ on more. But last week I started to have regrets about not getting the stamp set as well, primarily for that large daisy and the two bgs, so I just ordered it this week. I figure it'll also be more "sellable" down the road as a complete set (which is a joke because I'm NEVER willing to part with my stamps!!!)

I have both the punch and the stamp set. You don't necessarily need both. Another neat idea I got from someone on this site was to take your negative punched paper and use it as a template for dry embossing. I made a pretty card with that technique for a swap. Hope this helps.

Thanks for being the voice of reason Wendie! I'll definitely have to give that a try - I don't have a stylus, is there something else I can use for dry embossing?

I decided that the stamp set and punch were too much for me. I sold both of them. Now I want them again, due to the sweet subtle, convincing here on this thread! AGH! I think I am going crazy!

I decided to just get the punch and not the stamp set. Both together was too overwhelming for me but if money wasn't an issue I would have probably gotten the set too. I figure you can do alot with the punch (well the stamp set too but I forced myself to just pick one... have plenty of other flower sets and not many flower punches). Let us know what you decide!

I bought the punch and the stamp set on a pre-order. Couldn't stand the stamp set so I just traded it. I love the punch! I wasn't so good at lining the punch up with the stamps anyway.

I just put an order in for both. Couldn't make the choise and didn't want to gamble whether or not it shows up in a regular catty.

So......

After alot of flipflopping....... I'm going to get the punch and papers but not the stamps. Mind you there is still quite a bit of May left!

I like the idea of using the punch with coordinating cs and patterned papers. I saw someone (sorry I can't remember who) put what looked like a little fold in the center of the flower petals to give them some dimension. Looked really cute!

Thanks for all the help ladies. Appreciated.

I have both the stamps and the punch. I LOVE THEM BOTH!!! I have used this set on so many of my creations in the last month that I can't wait to see the looks on my mom's and sister's faces when the see what I have done with them for Mothers Day!

I use both the punch and set every day. My suggestion, if you go ahead an try the set with the punch, I think you will love it!

Oh, here's a tip: Line up the Star Shaped Flower with your punch at an angle to the left. This will bring the other two in line! Good luck!!!

I did a wonderful scrapbook page of flowers I photographed while on vacation. I used the punch to make various coloured flowers and arranged them in the corner of the page. I accented the centers with eyelets that also attached them to the page.
I have also used the punched flowers as an embellishement at the end of a word window tab. I attached the flower with a brad in the center.
I entered that card in the Success Magazine contest.

I am a demo and am getting just the punch. I am gonna hedge my bets that that is one set that will make it into the catty. OF course I could be wrong, but I am taking my chances.
