Default Looking for recommendations for card stock storage.

Hi, I am looking for something I can put my card stock in. Right now, it's just in different piles. I really prefer the kind that have slits, or has enough..........what am I trying to say? LOL I don't know!

Anyway, any recommendations would be great. Thank you so much!! I appreciate any and all help.

I use inexpensive magazine holders on their sides (backs?) like Jennifer McGuire shows in her cardstock organizing videos.

I like keeping cardstock “library” style, in other words, vertical, in ROYGBIV/neutral/black order. I can easily see a variety of different colors at a glance. Sleeves (job ticket holders) hold CS and large scraps. Or similar colors can be put in a sleeve. The job ticket holder strip with the holes is just cut off.
And it’s handy to bring the sleeve with similar colors and scraps or a few sleeves with different colors to my desk when deciding on colors.

And a thread from here with ideas:

Mine are in bins Like this (only black): Storex Book Bin, Large

I got mine on clearance at Walmart after the back-to-school sales. Cardstock is in sleeves (heavy-duty page protectors from Staples) in ROYGBIV order. Basics (white, cream, black, kraft) are not in sleeves, as there are too many sheets of each to fit.

Hi Sue!

I love your signature: "Happy for no reason." That would make a wonderful tee shirt! I really do love that. It's catchy and very positive!

I appreciate the pictures. I'm actually looking for more of a shelve type that you put the paper in, that lays flat. Like the first picture, with all the slats. But thank you so much for sending your picture!

Stamp-n-Storage sells plastic sleeves with a tab that hold each color paper. That allows me to store more than one color paper in each slot. They have 12 x 12, 8.5 x 11, and 6 x 6. It works pretty slick.

I have two filing cabinets from Ikea that I store all my cardstock in. I wanted to keep the c.s. from fading on the edges, which it did when I had them out in the open.

I've been using Jennifer McGuire's method of storing 8 1/2x11 cardstock in job ticket holders for a few years now. I love it because I can label each pocket with the brand and color. My favorite feature is that I can keep all the scraps with each color. I have way fewer piles of odds and ends of cardstock laying around thanks to this method. I should add, I don't cut the top off the job ticket holders like she does, I use it as a tab to place my label on, for me, it's easier to read the labels that way. Here's a link to her video that shows her system:

I use a 4-drawer file cabinet, and each color gets its own file folder. Before I did that, the edges would fade. I've had cardstock for up to 15 years and it's all in perfect condition!! My supply has outgrown my file cabinet, so I use the "retired" colors that I don't use often in file boxes - the file folders fit in the boxes really well.

I use a small file cabinet for the same reason! I also put each color's scraps in a page protector and file it with that card stock.

I am a big fan of the Stamp-N-Storage paper holders, which Beth (mycatbillybob) posted a photo of above. I have both their 8-1/2x11 and 12x12 holders. I stack them so that my paper is stored vertically in rainbow order.

I also keep a page protector in each slot that has that slot color's scraps in it. This system has kept my scraps so well-controlled since I almost always use them first. Another plus of this system is that I don't get hung up on measurements - because it's so easy to look through my scraps, I make do with the pieces that are in the page protector.

And other big fan here of keeping large scraps in a job ticket holder, page protectors or project sleeves with the whole sheets, whether storing flat or upright/vertically. But Small scraps are stored upright in a small bin near my die cutting machine to flip through for die cutting in ROYGBIV/white/black/brown/“specialty” order. (Specialty is metallics, bits from Gelli plated papers, etc.)

I use a rolling file cart with hanging file folders. There are many to choose from. I write the color name on the label. The file folders are arranged this way: in Colors, Neutrals, Brights, Regals, Subtles. Since I mainly have Stampin’ Up paper this works for me.

The bins Sue showed are at the Dollar Tree too.

My cardstock takes up a drawer in my filing cabinet, sorted by color family, in rainbow order of course!

Is this what you're thinking about?
Scrapbook Paper Racks
They have different sizes. I don't have this, & mine is stacked like yours right now. My only worry is dust with a unit like this. I too have been trying to figure out how to store my paper. So, thank you for starting this thread! <3

TLady, thanks for sharing that link to the trays. I'm looking for something very similar to that. Same idea, but solid. I'm so glad the thread was a help to you, as well. <3 By the way, I visited your gallery and you make beautiful cards! They're gorgeous. I wish I could make something that pretty. LOL Thank you for sharing your gallery pictures.  I also enjoyed visiting your blog.  Are you on youtube? Just curious if you make card videos. I'd love to subscribe to your channel, if you do.

Beth, I sent you a private message. I have to laugh at the You Tube question. I am not that tech savy here. Just enjoying card making & blogging & posting on SCS. THANK YOU for your SWEET COMMENTS on my blog & gallery. You've made me SMILE TODAY! Let us know if you find what you're looking for!

One last thought, the only thing I know of that has solid shelves is the
WRMK-Project Cart. But, it won't hold much for card stock storage.

Here is the link to that:

(I subscribed for them to let me know when they come in, but haven't gotten notice yet.)

Beth, JUST looked at my blog & your picture didn't show up for subscribing. You'll have to watch for my posts. I post at least once a week, so if nothing comes through... You might want to check. I've noticed others have said they've subscribed, but their pictures aren't showing up either, so not sure if it went through or not. Being "not tech savy" has it's disadvantages! :/ THANK YOU for subscribing though!!! <3

Because I have lots of sun coming in my stamp room window, I would have trouble with fading if I kept my cardstock on open shelves. My hubby built me drawers for all my paper and I put them in sections file folders that I think I got from Staples years ago. If I didn't have a hubby to build it, I would use file cabinets.

Default Portable file boxes

I store mine in individual hanging file folded. I use a piece of the cardstock & small return labels, to make the file tab.
I use side insert page protectors for scrap—each file folder has one.

I need to read through this thread. I have outgrown my file cabinets, I have a 2 drawer and a rolling cart.
Actually debating on a 3 drawer lateral cabinet, definitely want fully extending one, have to find a decent priced one that is sturdy, If you know of any good brands let me know!
I really do like having my card stock in file folders, one for each colour and just keep the scraps to the front of folder, a tab with name of colour and sample cardstock tab works great.
I am so used to it that way after 15 years, makes me hesitate to switch how I house them, I know a shelf with magazine rack holders would be more compact,
Anyhow need to read through this thread!
