Default Looking for a password notebook....

A couple of days ago I was blog surfing and came across a password notebook made with chipboard covers and the bind it all. I remember the cover had a big flower on it and in the middle of the flower it said "mouse clicks." But of course, I didn't save it! And now I don't know where I was! What I'm mainly looking for is what to put on the inside pages.....Any one have any ideas??

is this what you were looking for? i thought i'd seen something like you mentioned; i use google reader and one of the best things is the SEARCH function... i just entered passwords in the search box, and searched all the blogs i subscribe too.

Just a thought. Be careful not to leave out such an obvious beauty where a thief could find your passwords.

I just made one of these last week. Because I use several of the same passwords and log ins, I just put the first couple of characters to remind me which one I had chosen. That was if it does go astray it won't give anyone the key to my bank account overdraft LOL!

Thinking the same thing...might be pretty, but kinda defeats the purpose of having passwords. I would suggest creating a strong password for each different site that you can easily remember, but that a hacker can't so easily figure out. I got this document from a thread about the paypal hackers. It's very interesting and helpful!

the link worked for me, and the item is in the 'anything but a card' gallery, so everyone signed in should see it.

Thank you! Not only did you find the original one I was looking for, but now I have an idea for the inside pages!

You know, since we don't bank online or anything like that (long story, but dh is definitely a techno-phobe!) I never really thought about security. I'm going to make these for a couple of co-workers for Christmas for logins at work--we basically share them anyway, so security isn't really an issue.....

I am glad you like my book.

Each of my kids also has one that they MUST write every log in and password for every site they visit. That way #1 THEY can remember them and #2 I can check on them if I feel the need. I think it's a GREAT idea for kids (and parents).

I have been meaning to make up a rolodex for the same purpose. However, I did not intend to put banking stuff in it. I kind of figured it was more for stuff like here at splitcoaststampers or various stuff I really don't care that much about the password for, but have to have one for it. If someone breaks in to my home, I have much bigger concerns than "omg...they can pretend to be me on SCS or my other chatty forums".

For banking maybe a small notebook that is hidden would be a better idea?

i 'code' all my passwords that are important... i use key phrases that help me remember what my password is... but it's not like "my dog's name" because that might be too easy for someone to guess -- the phrase would be something like "daughter's favorite animal"

Yeah, I did catch the irony in that. I have started using the simple formula for strong passwords. DH and I discussed what our "key" would be and so far it has actually made it easier to remember what password I use where.

I do like the idea of the kids having to write down their passwords so parents can check. But I'm concerned it would lead to bad habits as an adult.

I use a password program that I downloaded. You have to have a master password to open it and then all your others are inside and you can categoriize them and add notes. You also can print it out. I don't know if it is ok to put the url on here, but if someone lets me know, I can provide it.
