Cool

Very impressive cards shown here. Next year I am going to start in July.

Honest, I am.

Merry Christmas to all.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday, and stay well, the flu is running rampant this year.

I saw a cute Christmas creation of Facebook, so I ordered the stuff to make it. Going to start after Valentine"s Day, and going to make some Christmas throw pillows to give as gifts.

Throw pillows sound cute!!!

I hit up Christmas clearance sales and found some mugs, cute metal buckets, tons of nail files, hand lotions, Eos and lip balms.....

Someone on FB made "Winter Survival kits". They had a little box that they added lotion, handwarmers, a hot cocoa, cup of soup, and sanitizer in. I am going to also add in a pack of tissues and a lip balm.

I went back to Sally's yesterday and they had a little set with clippers, tweezers, a file and toe repeaters in a little plastic pouch. $0.75. I bought what they had. They also had, but I didn't get, clippers that have a foot on them. The customer ahead of me specifically asked about them, saying that they were the best clippers around. $0.35! Now that I think about it, I should have gotten some....

Cool

I am so bummed.

Worked for several weeks on a baseball scrapbook for a silent auction, fundraiser for a high school baseball program, that my grandson"s will eventually play in. My scrapbook from two years ago went for a good bid, so I made this book even bigger and better.

Not one single bid. A lot of people looked at it, commented how great it was, then looked at the Kendra Scott jewelry right next to it, and moved on.

So, I ended up buying my own scrapbook. Money for a good cause, book is ready for pictures, so it's not all bad. Just have to think up something else for the auction next year. People bid and paid $100 for a peanut butter cheesecake. I mean come on, a darn cheesecake!! Even for a fundraiser I would not pay that for a cheesecake.

I am really sorry for your disappointment. As a scrapbooker I know how much works goes into a book. How sad that a $100 cheesecake was bid, and nothing on your book. Sending hugs.

That is such a shame!!! People don't understand the time, effort, or cost that go into these things!!!
$100 for a cheesecake? That is absurd!!

I feel your pain. People just don't understand the emotional energy put into these projects. Not just time and money.
I hope it was fun to make at least

I enjoyed my time working on the book, and this weekend my grandsons sports pictures will be trimmed and placed. Next up are Valentine cards, and work on my daughter's baby book. She will be 37 in March, so I want to get it finished. The only way to organize a scrap/sewing room is to finish stuff up, and move on.

What is everyone planning for Valentine's Day?

I will be making a baked goodies tray for my CT department, dipped pretzel rods to hand out to my ER bunch, cards for the family, and try my hand at decorating some sugar cookies. The grandsons always want cash, so they are easy.

This is the first year (in 13) that I am not working in a preschool. But I do still have my Cub Scout boys. Not sure what I am doing for them yet.
My kids (11 and 14) are past the Valentine's party stage As for my family, we don't really make a big deal of Valentine's. My hubby usually has to work. In fact of the almost 16 years we have been married he has never been off.

A few years ago I old my dh to meet me at a restaurant near his office on Valentine's Day. I brought a nice white tablecloth, flowers, candles. The servers were so nice to help me clear stuff of and get set up. I usually work evenings, so we did have a nice lunch, and it was fun. Got to grab the moments when you can.

Taylor that sounds really nice.

My husband works at a prison 6 PM until most days until 10 AM. Then he comes home and crashes until he has to get up and leave again.

We usually celebrate with a family dinner on a different day. The last "date night" we had the kids were very young.
Now that I don't work, we have gone to lunch a few times, usually something quick.

My son works for the prison system also. That boy had to grow up fast, is a Sargeant now, and is a take charge guy.

My daughter found a cute graphic online to use with those squeeze pouches, so I made up 20 for her and she tied it around the neck....it says, "will you be my main squeeze?" My grandson is in daycare so he can still get away with that! He is 2-1/2 and he is my second main squeeze!

My daughter works for the state prison system also. She was a parole officer but now is a case worker...when another position for parole officer opens she will apply for that again but this was the only way she could move to the prison she is at now.

Cute idea for the pouches. I remember those daycare parties.

I baked two chocolate cherry cakes for my husbands office, got my Valentine cards in the mail. February is almost over, and I set my items out to start on Christmas crafting.
