wow! I came here looking for this exact topic and discovered the thread originated in 2008?! wowza!
Anyway, To keep the feeling of Christmas Spirit alive in my heart all year I began to observe Twenty-Fifthmas each month. This year I want to take it to the next level. This year I am planning to adopt a family or child for Christmas via the Salvation Army.
I really NEED to organize my world so that I am prepared for the holiday season before they arrive, so I just decided to make a Christmas Planner to use throughout the year and really attempt to make this work.
Do any of you have a Christmas Notebook or Planner? Any tips or advice?

Google for this, as there are multiple downloadable and printable templates available for xmas planners.

I have seen some easy to make ones using a composition book and adding tabs. Not sure of specific sites, but I am sure googling will find them. Have fun!

I took a composition book, made tabs, also added some pockets for receipts. Cost was about a $1.00. I printed out a calendar to go in the front of the book. Size was good, could fit easily in tote or purse.

Blessings with this wonderful endeavor. And believe me, Christmas will be here soon.

My sweet friend with a Silhouette just delivered Valentine's gifts for the boy's teachers. She took the large charger plates from Michaels, cut out large vinyl initials in a pretty font, then scalloped hearts. Turned out nice. I am going to bake cookies, package up in cellophane, and get easels for the plates. Done and done.

Yes. I am hoping to learn to cut with Vinyl this year. That's one goal for crafting.
I have a Cricut and a ScanNCut but have not really mastered either one!

I found some large cardstock hearts already cut out, and I am going to put a Valentine pencil on the heart with a glue dot, and some time of tag. Whoopee, got something going. Cupcakes, juice boxes, and limited candy.

I am set. World's oldest homeroom mother is on the job.

Valentine's done, done done. Ended up in the ER with oldest grandson, thought he might have the flu. Even with flu shots we still have positive flu test popping up. Thankfully it is just a bad upper respiratory, running rampant in our area.

I am ready for spring, tired of cold rainy days. Feeling badly for the people living in the east, looks horrible. This girl stays in Texas for a reason.

I like to do small gifts for friends/coworkers - one of my faves is the "sour cream container" filled with chocolate eggs and chocolate buttons. Or a mini milk carton, if you're feeling particularly generous with the goodies!

It's hard to get enthused about spring and Easter with snow dripping off the roof, and more in the forecast. It is rare in Texas, the kids enjoyed it for about a day, now it is a nuisance. Will try to start planning some Easter cards.

Living in San Diego, I see a lot of sunshine......gets to be a bit much sometimes but at least we never get the snow/ice/super low temperatures that so much of the country does.

Our lakes that have been drained by our droughts are spilling over, rained all day today. Great for boating this summer.

Rain.....that's something else we don't see a lot of here in San Diego

Our drought situation is dismal.

Glad to hear you got rain all day - the lakes are happy!

Finally got a new computer in January.
Then I messed up my shoulder at work. Went to PT and just got released from that when I fell on ice at work. Messed up my back, neck and got a concussion. That was early February. I ended up canceling two months of card classes, and I haven't really made anything since then. I am just now able to use the computer without getting migranes.

I too have made the Christmas planners. I made some with Composition books (Gina's Stamping Creations: Items For A Craft Fair -- Altered Comp Books) . And I made some of the file folder ones (Gina's Stamping Creations: Special order Planners and the inside can be seen here:Gina's Stamping Creations: Special Order Planners - inside ) . I have to say that while they both sold, the folder ones are a LOT of work! I charged $5 a piece for both types. There are some non-Christmas ones on my page as well if you'd like to see them.

Looking to make some nice ornaments this year. Anybody made them before and have ones they love? I can't really sew but could probably do a little hand-stitching if necessary. I don't own a sewing machine. lol

Looking towards Christmas already, way to go. I will look around, see if there are some paper based project for a ornament. One of the ladies in my scrapbook group took Christmas paper and covered plain paper mache ornaments from M's and HL.

Hello! wondering if anyone knows when the SU 20105 Christmas catalog will be coming out, I want to get started on Christmas items. This will be another handmade Christmas! BTW, I will be selling a ton of old stamp sets, papers, etc. very soon to make way for new and modern items.

I had gone through getting my Masters of Education 2013, then got sick early 2014 and got diagnosed with Colon Cancer in August of 2014.......nearing the end of treatment and getting excited with the prospect of crafting again.

It's been too long away from this group, missed you all!

Hey Cindy,

Good to hear from you, so sorry about the diagnosis, but glad to hear you are feeling well, and ready to start the old stamping grind again.

Not sure about the Christmas catalog, will ask my demo.

Hi Cindy,
Glad you're on the mend and Congrats on getting your masters!
The 2015 Holiday catalog sales period begins September 1st. Seems like a LONG way off, but this year is really flying by. The new 2015 - 2016 annual catalog will begin on June 2. Not sure how much Christmas product will be in there, probably the same as this year.
Wishing you the best!

Sharon

Thanks Sharon, I will be ready as I am cleaning out all the old stuff and ready for new. Just going to try not to be as big a hoarder as before. Use it some and move it on.....that will be the new motto.

I have a Strip Quilt planned for a niece/goddaughter and want to make some card sets for family members....you know general greeting sort. That's it so far. No more kids so no making teacher gifts. And the place where my son lives will get food because I cannot give gifts other than food. Will be interested to see what folks start creating.

Take care.

Cindy,

But if you can only give food as gifts, make sure it has a nice scrapped/stamped tag. lol

More storms coming to my area, area farmers can't get planting done, ground just saturated with muck.

Everyone have a great creative weekend.

I need to make some "end of year" teacher gifts and, sadly, I don't have time to go through this entire thread for ideas...so, what is your favorite treat holder to make, preferably with a gift card holder or way to attach a gift card?

I made Frenchie's nugget boxes with a gift card holder on the front for Christmas this past year (which was a huge hit!), so that's out. Any ideas for me?

I am thinking of teacher gift ideas also. Thought of some cute flip flops and tie them together and attach a gift card. Or summer tote bag, flip flops, magazine and some treats tossed in. And I saw a really cute idea, hanging basket or potting plant with a tag attached to a ruler in the pot and a tag attached "thanks for helping us grow this year".

Thank goodness I only have two teachers to do for.
