sorry guys, the fun just never ends at our house. The son is still away in job training, so I am picking up kiddos from daycare, starting dinner, homework, baths, bedtime. No time to stamp, scrap, sew, nothing.
But Christmas is coming, soon. Halloween, sooner.

Bumping...took a little break today to bag up items that I already made. My daughter helped me so we had time to talk too. I can't wait until she gets a little older so she can really help me with my crafting and sales prep!

My grandsons claim they help me, snipping ribbon to bits, dropping ink pads ink side down on floor, playing with brayers, mixing up brads all together.

Super helpful! My grandson is coming for a last minute visit so I have TONS of cleaning and putting away before he gets there. I have sort of taken over the living room, kitchen and well the entire downstairs of my tiny house. He gets into everything too.

Hey everyone, I haven't checked in here since last Christmas!
Last year I made about 20 altered comp books and matching bookmarks and pens, 20 sets of notecards, and 20 of those cute washer necklaces for all the gals in my family.
I still have those same folks this year, lol. What is everyone making for gal gifts?
I crochet as well as papercraft, so I've started on some cute spiral scarves. They are really cute and different, use only double crochet, and work up very fast. Thank goodness, because I'm making - you guessed it, about 20!
Here is a link if anyone would like to check out the scarves. I'm attaching fat tassles on the end of mine, too:

Hey Bugga,
I have been pondering what to do this year for Christmas. I did the altered pizza boxes with cards and tags last year, but we did Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, so they got them early, and could use them. I don't know about this year, and I have got to get moving. The scarves are pretty, and they would work up quick and easy.
Uh, it's three months until Christmas. Eeekkkk!!!!

Patrice, I'm also making sets of notecards again. I did this last year, and everyone loved them.
I found this cute example and I'm going to case it. I have a cute owl stamp to use, and will make the notes of craft cardstock with matching envies. I found a neat font and can personalize each set with my printer. Take a look:

I just started on some personlized note card sets with the owl. Here is one that's done, with its matching lined envie:

Bugga,
Cute notecards, I have a owl punch, have not done much with it, guess I need to go dig it out.
I did my first spiral scarf, and going to get more yarn today. Worked up very quick, and turned out nicely. But a small hint to anyone going to start this project, make the first chain row very tight. I was using a soft yarn, and I chained very loose, thinking it would be more lacey, but it did not swirl, just kind of hung there, flat. Ripped out, started over, chained very tight, and I have a nice swirl.
I don't know what else to give with these, unless I can find some gloves to match the yarn.

Hi everyone,
Newbie here. I love the conversation. This will be my first year since childhood that I wiwll be making or even sending Christmas cards. I am blind, so I need to use tactile materials, like embellishments. I'll look for Christmas-related embellishments soon. Also, what color shoudl I choose for the cardstock base? I know when making Christmas cards as a child, the color was mostly green or red. Would that be right? What about a design combined with embellishments?

Okay, I guess when I die my life will be complete. I have a "syndrome" or "condition" named after me. I showed my swirly scarf to my friend in the mammography department. She said she has a name for someone who tries to do it all, starts 50 projects and has them going all at the same time.
Patriceism
It's not a painful condition, but my tote bag of all my stuff that I lug around gets heavy.
I hope I get a day off soon, I got lots to do.

Changelinggirl, I've seen some very pretty Christmas cards made with light to medium blue card stock and also white card stock.
See by your post that you are new SCS, just wanted to shout, Hi and Welcome!

Thanks Mary. I'll see what color cardstock I'll try. I prefer green or blue to red or white, since I just like those colors better.
Btw, I have a totally different condition, I have Astrid's Syndrome.

First off...Welcome to our little group, we're glad you joined us!
I own a scrapbook/rubber stamp store so I've been lucky enough to see what is coming out for Christmas and Winter before everyone else. (hey, someone has to do it! )
The trend this year seems to be either very traditional deep greens & reds (almost vintage) or whimsical bright colors like hot pink and bright green or lavender and blue.
There are ALOT of great embellishments out there so I think that what ever embellishment you use will set the tone for your design and base. That probably doesn't help, does it?
My go to base right now is kraft color. It's a great neutral and looks great with either traditional or whimsy cards.
Hope you'll post a picture when they are complete!
Sharon

Hey, Patrice - Always glad to provide another project, lol. And, you are right about chaining tightly, or it won't spiral. I'm using different kinds of yarn, stuff I have leftover from projects. The type of yarn makes a difference in how it spirals, also.
I know these scarves won't do much to keep your neck warm, but they are darn cute! Onward......

I am starting a second scarf, and when I get all of them done, I am going to match fuzzy socks to go with them for my Christmas gifts.
Whew, big load off to finally get soemthing going. Thanks Bugga for the idea.
That's what this ongoing thread is all about.
Changeling, welcome to our group. One year I did white card base, with two different tones of blue snowflakes, with silver embellishments. They turned out very pretty, and looked elegant.

And, thank you Patrice, for the fuzzy socks idea - perfect to go with the scarves! Inexpensive, too. I have quite a few to buy.

Michael's is having a yarn sale tomorrow, combined with my 25% off total purchase, those scarves got just a little more economical.

Okay Question......Does anyone know of a tutorial for a little holder to hold 2 bottles of hand lotion? I have seen them before, but can't find one now. It can be back to back or next to each other. I would prefer to have a handle. I tried googling, but maybe I am just not calling it the correct thing.
Thanks in advance!!!

Well....After a not very productive show on Saturday, Sunday i wake up with a message from the bank. Someone stole my CC #! It's a debit/credit so the $ comes directly from my bank account. Luckily the bank caught it and today I had to go fill out fraud paperwork. I have to wait for the purchases to hit, then they can dispute them then I get to wait for my money!! Yay me! Is this week over yet????
Also I wanted to ask, i thought I saw a recipe for candy cane sugar scrub, but now I am not seeing it. Is there any way someone can direct me?
I'd appreciate it!

Just bought my first christmas-related supplies: some silver bells, snowflakes etc. and a christmas tree stamp. Bad thing: I only bought raspberry-colored ink. This will be my first attempt at stamping, so that's why I didn't want to buy a huge amount, and I did buy other stamps in heart shapes maybe for Valentine's day.

Oh Gina, that stinks. Any idea how they got it.
I did a google search for the scrub and many came up - here is one:
Handy Pants: Candy Cane Sugar Scrub
hope that helps.
