I just bought some pink ones from Michael s for a little over a dollar. I think they were $1.20 (60% off the original price). They are the big 6" or so size.

I use wine glasses filled with small ornaments to decorate with at the holidays, and the wine charms just add to the cute factor. Good idea.

I have been working like crazy making my glass magnets. I have a show in June and started with making supplies for then, but got carried away and decided to make a big lot so I have less work to do in the fall for the xmas shows.

Anyone else working on xmas show items yet??

LOL Oh I am!!!! I started in February for next November. I have 3 shows in November. Two 2 day events and a one day event. I have never done the one event, but someone on the committee saw my items last year and invited me to join them. It is a VERY large church in the area, and I never dreamed I could get in there! So I am a little nervous about that one. Also I ran out of so many items last year, that I was scrambling for the 2 weeks in between shows to get stuff done. I am NOT doing that this year! Besides, I won't have time!!!

Thumbs up

When I get back from Ireland, I am starting on Christmas. Honest, I am going to do it this year. Do I sound convincing? It looks like another drought filled summer in Texas, so while I am laid up in the air conditioning, I might as well be doing something to take the stress off December.

There are lots of onlone tutorials out there about how to make them. I have added to my technique each year, by collaging some.

I am happy to say that I found the Large plain wooden clothes pins!! YEAH! I think I bought 20 while they had them. I also scored at J's today, the bags of round glass "marbkes" you use for magnets were on clearance for $0.25 a bag! I bought all the one store had! I also started making Key Fobs! A new addiction!! I made 22 in about 2 hours! It would have taken less time if only I was better at sewing. I used Ultra Bond fuseable "tape" to hold my ribbons still while I sewed. So that was an extra step I could have avoided. On the up side, I ordered 100 more Key Fob hardware today, and I have already sold more then 10 of the finished Key Fobs! And this is just since last night (Midnight)!!!!!!

Was thinking about this thread last night - and decided to get more ideas out there by listing things I had made in the past for gifts. It's only June, but the time is now to get started on gifts. I really hope others will add other ideas too!!

Sewing:
Plastic bag holders
Cloth napkins
Table runners
Quilts
Wine bags
Placemat bags

Crochet:
Dishcloths
Rag rugs
Totes

Misc:
Glued wine corks to a wreath base
Wine cork trivet
Wine cork bulletin board

Shall add more as I think of them!!

I dont remember where I saw it, but I saw someone mention wine cork gifts. Today I saw on Pintrest where someone simply cut the cork in half the long way, and made them into magnets. I thought that was kind of cute. Looks like something people would find in stores. Just a thought.

Hey Everybody,

Jet lagged from Ireland, and I was surprised I did not see any scrapbook shops in Dublin, or Cork City. I am sure they have some, just not in the main shopping/pub areas. I did pick up some gorgeous wool yarn to crochet something with. I came up with an idea for first day of school gifts for teachers. I am going to do a sewing kit in a small jar, and label it "hope this helps keep everything together this year" . I am going to do tablerunners for Christmas, will start digging for material I haver stashed.

I need a nap.

You're supposed to give 1st day of school gifts??? [I'm new to this - my 2 1/2 yr old just started preschool 2 weeks ago. I'm already stressing about what to give his 2 teachers for Christmas and it's only June!!]

Cute idea though.

Well, I do gifts for the first day of school, and all the holidays and occasions. Teachers are so underpaid, I try to give things they can truly use. Last year I had coupons for Bath and Bodyworks, nice bottles of hand lotion, made tags that said hope you have a smooth year. My son is divorced, so I do all this for my grandsons. Check out my blog, I have a few ideas, especially the pizza boxes I embellished for Christmas gifts.

Thanks, I need to update with some recipes. I spent five long years taking extra call and working overtime to put my daughter through college. And the first two years she had to live back at home, entry pay for teacher's positions was pathetic, she could not afford to buy food after rent and utilities. It is so sad our government does not value education.

I was looking through the other items and love the way your tealights turned out also.
How much do you plan to charge for the tealights?

You are doing well to prepare for xmas early.
I am planning on doing some tealights with embossed metal accents this year.
