My Husband is tall and has very broad shoulders. He gets the aisle seat, too, but usually keeps getting hit by the beverage cart going up and down the aisle. We made this comment as we were checking in in London (back to the states) and the British Airlines rep was kind enough to upgrade us to business class - what luxury! I can't imagine what 1st class would have been like, because we were treated like royalty in business class!
Hoping to go to Hawaii next year for our 10 year anniversary, but like you, dreading that looooong flight (especially in coach! lol)

These are really cute. Thanks for sharing with all of us. If any one bought, or can still find the tealights that were out for Halloween, then 'flames' were orange. The snowman would actually have an orange nose!

Hey Fellow holiday crafters,

I am feeling a tad bit of stress, my family is celebrating Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, so it's a good news/bad news thing. Get it over early, but less time to think and prepare.

The lighted Santa gloves look like ginger jars that have been frosted, glittered on the inside. Make the faces, tubes of fleece for hat/scarf. Then stuff the strand of lights inside. I can see a small glimpse of wires behind one. That is my guess, bet I am pretty close.

I am going to get my camera out this week. I am only one more night of call until December, four more days until a week off. Halleulajah.

Whew, Thanksgiving is over, and half my gift frenzy is done. My pizza boxes were well received, you can see them on my blog.

WWW.World's Oldest Homeroom Mother.Blogspot.com

If the link doesn't work, which they usually don't for me, type it in on google.

I am "whupped" as we say in east Texas. It has been too many carby foods, rding in cars, family celebrations, hotel rooms, and keeping grandsons happy. Tonight it is all about me. Which will be Desperate Housewives, and go to bed.

Well, my doctor pulled me off of work for the next week. Figured I would start on next year's thanksgiving cards and Christmas cards. Just need to figure out which cards to make. I thought I might do 2-3 different patterns. Think that will be too much? Any one have some ideas?

Hope someone can help! I recently saw some stamped gifts and there were a couple or more recipes for different flavored coffees. The stamping was to decorate the tags or jars or something. I thought I'd bookmarked the site, but have searched my computer and cannot find it! It was in someone's blog or website. Sound familiar to anyone? I sure would like to make some as gifts. Thanks!

Default Altered domino set with carved box

As a last minute gift for my boyfriend, I stamped and altered a set of dominoes and carved the lid of a box to hold them.
I posted picks and how to on my blog.
I want to do some more sets, but think I will use printed lazertran decal sheets or print thin tissue that can be decoupaged on the backs. The backs are similar enough, but not exactly the same.
I have several sets of carving and etching tools from my printmaking class and the inexpensive wood items at Mike's or ACM are very soft, so they carve very easily and nicely. I used a bold stamp as a design guide.

Wow! I think this would take a lot more time than "last minute" to make this set as beautiful as you did!

LOL, Thanks. Really, the only reason it took as long as it did was cause I was watching Hoarders while paint dried and between stamping - thank you Netflix. I love Krylon's kumar varnish. The stuff dries in minutes with a quick light coat and it makes the colors and finish pop. The carving took a little longer than the dominoes, but not too long - I managed to watch PBS while doing it, though that probably isn't the safest technique. The wood is really soft and it isn't deep at all. I mostly scraped the surface to remove the Stazon. Carving rubber stamp blocks is harder. Decoupage on the tiles would be much quicker.
