I just finished some fun gift ideas. I made a magnetic calendar for my Niece and some magnetic frames for a little guy's rooms.

You may have noticed the ad banner for the Flameless Candles. A co worker of mine loves these candles so much I had to check them out and order one. They are great - they flicker like a candle, some have timers and come on and go off automatically making great night lights, you can get them in vanilla scent and they are made of wax.

I've had mine around for awhile and said to myself I wonder if you can stamp on these like regular candles, and you can!

So I've made my first stamped candle, I just did a real simple lay out of poochie and snow flakes, Incase it didn't work I didn't want to wast a lot of time on it. But it worked fine. I'll be ordering more of these to make and you don't have to worry about burning it and ruining the design because it doesn't burn.

Here's my candle

Hey Mary,

I am standing here speechless, and for a female in the south, that is a rare occurrence. I finished the quilt for my friend, and she just brought me a $200.00 Michael's gift card.

Can you believe it, a $200 shopping spree.

Here are two pictures of the bag/purse that I got done making last night. I used college team material, what I had on hand. Sent it this afternoon to my daughter who lives in Columbia, MO. where this college team is, she sometimes goes to the football games on Saturday. I added two pockets to the inside for her keys and cellphone. Wasn't too hard to make either.

yes, life sure does get in the way, we had three family members pass away in three months...not a very fun summer for our family. Things have gotten better, thank goodness.

I'm glad someone mentioned selling those purses on Etsy, because it brings up a question I've had for a long time now. Aren't those team fabrics copyrighted and sold "for personal use only"?

I've seen several people at craft shows making things with copyrighted fabrics and wondered if I just misunderstood what all the copyright entails. (Specifically, I remember seeing John Deere quilts and pillows.)

I'm sure it's fine to make them for gifts, but I'm wondering if it's okay to actually sell them for profit. I know some companies are fiercely protective of their copyrights (Disney, for example), and I wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble. My husband also suggested that I make something with a copyrighted fabric and sell it on Etsy, but I didn't think I was allowed to do that.

So ... does anyone know?

Here is what I found on copyright material/fabric:
Answers.com - Can you make craft items with licensed fabric and sell it

It appears that you can sell items made with this type of material.

Well, gee Mary. I guess if I actually read before I jumped in and posted - I might not duplicate what you so helpfully posted already.

Sorry, guys.

I've been searching high and low for a thread and haven't found one...so I'll create one, and hopefully people will list their ideas. Once I get it up, I'll post a thread here. I agree going through 1800 (2 years of posts) is ALOT lol.

Hi Everyone!

I put a thread on here to hopefully help some of us on figuring out what gift ideas are out there. I know for me alot of times, I like to look at a list and search for samples that way. I am hoping that you will stop by and put ideas on there for other people. They can be gifts for Valentines day, Christmas, Birthdays, Wedding, etc.

Here is the thread...
