Monday morning here youngest son 15 is off at school, hubby and eldest son 19 at work, me I'm house cleaning while no one is here.
It's cooled down today with a bit of rain and wind, I can't wait until summer is over I've had the 37-38*C heat!

I've been surfing around to see what new techniques are out there or themes (christmas I try to run with a vague theme) 3 birthdays down, many more to go then squeeze in the christmas stuff

Hey Everybody,

The laptop is in the shop, so no computer access this weekend at home.Aggh, no facebook, blogs, it was terrible. But hopefully in a couple of days everything will be back to normal. Granny's quilt is rocking along, I wish I could say every corner and seam matches up, but no time for that, just got to get it together, and quilted, at age 101, everyday counts.

Sounds like you are having withdrawals, Patrice. So every corner doesn't match up, that makes it more special, because it is hand made by you!

Am back on line!!! Have been off 2 weeks while DH had a buddy change over our info onto another computor,...it's still not the way I like it but that's ok,...I'm back.
Did get the first big gift done a afgan for DH's uncle,it turned out very nice, will be SUPER warm and fit his "style" so it's in a bag and on the shelf in the closet. What a relief. I normally stamp gifts but did notice I have an excess of odd yarn, might do some "in front of the tv" pot holders. They are simple and another practicle gift. We'll see.
Got snow here,is supposed to cont all weekend. JOY!!!

My grandmother always used her odd yarn to crochet coat hangers with. Snowing like mad here, our part of town, of course, had the most between 7 and 8 inches. More is suppose to come next week too. I spent about two hours clearing the sidewalk and drive (had to so we could put the cars away tonight), boy I'm really feeling it too. Did part with shovel and the drive with the snow blower. That was after I got home from cleaning a house for 4 hours!

I got two Valentine cards done last night. I had to clean for over an hour in my scrap room, re organized some punches, shuffled the clutter around for a little bit, then had to plan the layout of the card. It was close to midnight by then. But I persevered, got two made. Need to quilt today, and work on more cards. It's cold, and dreary today, be good to stay in and do my "stuff".

I went to the movies yesterday with dh, we saw The Book of Eli, wow, Denzel Washington was fantastic.

That is what I did last night too, made a few Valentine's card and a encouragement card for a friend going thru chemo. I know of four women who are going thru chemo now, very depressing to have that many at one time. Now I need to make two birthday cards today for my aunt and uncle birthdays. Maybe I can finally get back to my rag quilt tote bag sometime this week.

Working diligently on my Valentine's cards......running behind. I have to get them in the mail tomorrow!

I have my St. Pat's and Easter cards designed though not started. I did start on some fabric crafts this weekend.....table runner and placemats for my sister.

Mary thinking that the tote you made would make a great gift for one of my nieces. But, I have to order the die first!!

Cindy, I think you can buy that die at Jo-Ann's and use a 40% coupon too. They also have the scalloped circle one too.

I was rushed to the hospital last Sunday afternoon, had emergency appendectomy surgery Monday night, and came home from the hospital Tuesday night - didn't get any crafting done till Saturday - when I was able to gather some supplies together - so between Sat afternoon and last night - I made 12 Thanksgiving cards and 60 Christmas cards! Tomorrow night I am taking my Mom to see Beauty and the Beast at The Providence Performing Arts Center in Prov. RI - (was blessed with a FREE pair of tickets!!!) so I am hoping to get back into the craft room Wed night - still need to get some Valentine goodies done for my hubby and daughters! Than will do a few St. Patty's items than onto Easter goodies!!!

Thanks Mary - I am mending slowly but surely! And Yes the instructions do say REST and I really have been I basically did NOTHING but computer time until Sat - by than I started to go crazy - needing paper, scissors and glue!!!!- I gathered up my supplies and had DD carry them up stairs to the living room where I sat with a card table in front of me and worked away - if I needed anything someone went down to the basement and got what I needed - that after Hubby threatened to bolt the basement door shut on me!!!!

Got some really cute clipboards at Archivers that are round and they had one decorated for the kitchen, one really narrow they did not have decorated but I had visions of it done up for BIL's Garrage and a honey do list. Got them but they lay in wait of a few other things.

I am making similar iPods as this one for Valentine's Day but they'd make REALLY cute Christmas gifts as well. Especially for someone who has an iPod, you could make it as a matchbox and put an iTunes gift card in it. I am making mine out of shiny metallic paper, to look like metal, and they are matchboxes. It's for my family (dad, sister, aunt) so the playlist is songs about family. I designed the control buttons on my computer, then cut them out with circle nesties. I will try and take a picture when I am done. I did a blue one for my dad, a bright pink for my sister and a pastel pink for my aunt. They turned out really cool. I am not using Reese cups though, I am using gum drops as the ear buds.

Edited: I got the paper in a stack at Walmart for $7, and I can get one iPod per sheet - it had 25 sheets. I am thinking about making these for the craft fair, selling it as an empty box they can put an iTunes gift card in or whatever. I think they might sell well!!

Nikki,

The ipod is really cute, cute songlist, gotta keep these ideas coming.
I took a small live miniature rose bush, took some long toothpicks, stuck one end in some candy chocolate hearts, skewed the candy in the flower pot. Added some other puchouts, curly ribbon, and had a cute rose plant for a friend, for under $5.00.

Happy Valentine's Day to all here.

Next week is our monthly SU meeting, party whatever it's called. I am buying the template for the Rolodex. I plan on making several for Christmas. I think I am going to use flowers for my theme on some. For guys I think I will use geometric shapes. I am going to stamp and embelish the card for each letter of the alphabet and then on cards where you put the addresses I am going to do second or third generation stamping. Something simple. Actually I can't wait to start. I think this will be fun and easy. I will go to Staples or somewhere like that to get the actual empty Rolodex.
