Thanks Mary, will have to wait to see the video until I return home from Wisconsin. At the In-Laws and they only have dial up! Love my in-laws to death, hate dial-up!

Sounds neat and I have tons of fabric too. But, might have to check out the quilt store and JoAnns here.

It's a heat wave in Wisconsin today....about 22 and about 15 for low tonight. You get used to it. Sorry, Patrice!

Hey Cindy,

It's 41 degrees here, feels down right tropical outside. I am going for a walk, will dress in some layers, once I get going I will warm up. Then going to try to get a hour of quilting in before I go to work.

Yeah, up here helping family out. This afternoon took off coat and wearing about 3 layers...one of them a heavy knitted sweater. So, not too bad.

In between toting family about, I have been working on parts and pieces for Valentines and Easter cards. Crocheted items...scalloped edging in the SU In-colors.

Can't wait to get home though....love my home, miss my routine and....did I tell you that I miss high speed internet access?

No time to do anything this week. My son has the flu, so I have to get up in the morning and take the boys to daycare and school. They live 40 minutes away, so the whole process takes almost two hours in the morning, after being at work until after midnight, I have been going back and, and back to bed. My whole routine is upset, but that's okay, all the projects will hold for a couple of days. The grandsons need us right now,and that's what is most important at the moment.

Ya'll carry on with all the crafty stuff, I will catch up in a few days.

It's 8.45 am sunday here, I've just made us all french toast for breakfast and now the family is doing dishes LOL Hot and humid here again today but I guess that summer.

Not sure if I said so here but I made an explosion type box (2 layers or inner and outer box joined) for my mil 70 birthday in a few weeks, finally completed and ready to give, this would be a great thing to do for any other type of box as for valentines you could put heart chocs and verses or photos inside the box or christmas lollies when christmas comes around again, Halloween do a spooky one etc ........

I may have to go find out how to do an album in the gallery, that may be my challenge for the day LOL

I hope a good weekend is being had by all

I am enjoying a peaceful, quiet morning, my son is much better, and he was able to come and get the grandsons. So last night I put up some decorative shelves in my scrap room, applied the Decor Elements from SU on the wall, straightened up some.I have so much to do, always projects going. I got 13 Target mailboxes Friday, at work. I am so blessed to have the kind of job that I do. As long as the x-rays get done, no one cares what I am doing back in my little darkroom.

Off to the Sunday paper.

Patrice....hope your son and grandsons are doing okay now. And your scrap room is all nice and tidy! Your project sounds ambitious, but, who am I to talk? Lucky you being able to work on fun stuff at work!! Post finished project please!!

Just started an afgan for DH's Uncle for Christmas next year,...love to work on a warm project this time of year, yarn was on sale and just all double crochet,simple,...no patern as I'm using one of those fun, heavy yarns and you would not pick up a patern with that. Hope it dosent take too long.

Those are good to work on this time of year.....much better than in the summer. I did one of those a few years back with 2 strands of yarn and a really big hook.....used a yarn with some wool in it. I had to make a fabric label on it for the recipent because they would wash in in warm water and it needed cold. Teach me, huh?

Hey Barbijo,

I'm working on an afghan, too. Great minds, huh? You're right about this time of the year for warm projects. I can cover up with what I'm crocheting and stay cozy on the couch.

I'm doing a ripple pattern that I've made dozens of times so I don't have to think too hard about what I'm doing.

Here are a couple of pictures of my rag quilt purse, lighting not too good because it is so gloomy here:

I bought the instructions for the purse from here:
http://www.chicknscratch.com/2010/01...tions-dvd.html
http://www.chicnscratchlive.com/2009...rse-video.html
Watch the three videos first to see how easy it is to make. The lady who made the videos, Angie Kennedy Juda, didn't start sewing until this pass September.

How cool is that!!! If you didn't have the stamp you could produce the same thing on the computer and print it off the follow the same instructions from there. I'm so digging that idea for a workshop.

Yep, that would work and probably be faster too, if your not a computer dummy, like me.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!! Oh Patrice, where are you?? Hope you didn't get the flu!

Off to make a rag quilt tote for my daughters' boss, she graduated from KSU, so I'm using fabric that has the logo on it for her, purple, white, black and printed. Going to try and add some pockets this time, hope I can figure it out! LOL!

Hey Everyone,

This week is flying by, can hardly keep up. But then, we always want it to hurry up for Friday. My grandmother turned 101 this week, so I thought a nice lap quilt would be something she could use. And I better not take my time, at 101, the clock is ticking. So I picked out some bright red materials, actually got the first block done, it's a project I can work on here at work next week.

What is everyone doing for Valentine's?

Yes, I am very blessed to have this job. Since we went to digital imaging, all the chemicals were cleared out of the darkroom, so there is a lot of room to "work" in. My supervisor doesn't care, as long as the patients are well cared for. I have brought my mat, and rotary cutter this week, cutting out blocks for granny's quilt.

TGIF EVERYONE

That would be a really neat project, Mary! I don't have the matchbox die yet but, I do have the one for the leaves and top note! I would love the directions if you find them.

I think probably a new thread so it draws more people in. Sometimes people see a thread they haven't read, it has 10 pages (or in this case, 32!), and so they don't jump in because they don't have time to read the whole thing

Good Morning! I was going through old e-mails very early this morning and found some links I thought might be good to share with you for using DVD tins. The first one is a tutorial found in the resources section for directions to put an album in that tin. The second link is for Andrea Walford's Christmas Planner in a tin. I know I have some tins stashed downstairs that might get used this year. I have got to start using these stashes up!!
