What's a gift card purse?

It's a little cardstock purse that is sized to hold a gift card. There are a number of different patterns and shapes. Here's a template for one of them, and it links to a sample. http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...d.php?t=193213
There's a darker version of the template in reply #12 in that thread. I've also seen them with beaded handles.

Thanks for the template, crafts. I have a notebook started with gift card templates, so that when I need one, it's handy and I don't have to hunt for it.

That's a good idea, I need to do that. I often just reach for my gift card purse template for girls because I can't think of other things! LOL

I use the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cart for Cricut for the purse gift card holder. If I set the Expression at Fit to Page, it makes it big enough for gift cards.

I've never seen one of these, but I did make a bunch of mini albums using name badge holders. I used chipboard for the front and back covers and rings to hold it together. I gave them to children, and they have held together really well.

I got the holders at WalMart. I don't think they were very expensive.

I wouldn't mind seeing the album with the credit card holders if anyone has a link or a template. That sounds interesting.

It's almost Halloween, then we know what is coming next. I joined a SCS group on Facebook, and have been spending way too much time there.

I'm having fun making cards again - I couldn't bring myself to get started during the year!

I'm looking for ways to use up patterned paper from Christmases past, but I don't want to put it on my actual cards (mostly because I'm designing cards to demo so...) Does anyone have any thoughts on gifts that use up lots of patterned paper? No one in my circle can handle any more mini-scrapbooks, so I'm stumped.

What about those pinecone ornaments that use folded strips of DP?

The dsp can be cut into thin strips, wound around a pencil, then pull it off, and work into the opening of a clear glass ornament ball. Cap it off, then embellish. It's a great way to use up scraps I have seen the paper town into little shred, then stuffed into the ornament. I am going to do some for my own tree.

A friend of mine posted this link - I love the note pad holders -- you could probably fashion something similar with a regular manilla folder and some DP, I would think I know I still have TONS of those Jr. Legal pads from a few years ago, when the fad was to make covers for them...

http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=136596572783

here's a link to the tutorial:
http://pattystamps.com/pattys_stampi...ad-holder.html

I'm thinking I'll make them for my DD's teachers -- it's easy, useful, and CHEAP! LOL

How about nugget boxes, and the top make out of pattern paper - you could wrap the nuggets in strips of it too, instead of the mailing labels they usually use. Any box you could make with the pattern paper - I really like the bag in a box (there is a tut in the forum section) - use it to put a gift in. Even wrapping candy bars in the paper, really jazzes up gifting candy! I love candy!

Great tips on using up that paper!

And cvansluys - you're welcome -- glad I could help! I can't wait to sit down and give one a try!

Okay, you know how I have been making and decorating the Frappuccino Boxes? Well, this morning I came upon this one http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...230?&cat=10558 Just have to make it larger to accomodate some cups instead of bottles!

So, how is everyone doing on their Christmas projects? Hasn't been much chatter here lately.

Busy toiling away on our wonderful holiday projects?

I have my darkroom covered up at work, Halloween cards are being produced, while I take a break from The Biggest Loser.

I just finished up my Halloween cards and gifties to the teachers at my son's school. Working on some Birthday cards that I will need through the end of January and working on my Thanksgiving cards.

Then I will finish those Frapp bottle carriers, altered notebooks and one more batch of Grape Jelly ( I froze the juice ). I have to decorate the Jam and Jelly jars....prob with fabric, ribbon and tags....gifts for the neighbors.

Not making many gifts for family this year.....my Mom and Sister had a less than favorable reaction to what I gave them last year. I put my heart and soul in what I do, if they don't appreciate it, I will bestow my art on others who do!

Thats me for a bit.....enjoy reading everyone elses!!

Want to make a couple of sets of coasters for family members as something different for me.

Cards are almost finished! Put in my last order for supplies to make the last few....ran out of CS and envelopes!!

Have a craft day tomorrow, will be trying to make those organizers out of file folders for shopping lists and notes. Also plan on making some coasters out of tiles, excited to try that.

Sunday bump, I am knee deep in laundry, and Halloween baking. And to top it all off, I joined with our local tv station, their version of The Biggest Loser, I have to go to a gym, be weighed weekly. So I am going to start getting up at 4:45 am, get to gym, work out before I head off to the ER, then do another workout after my shift is over. The promotion goes through Dec 15, will help me keep straight during the holidays, and hopefully lose these last 10-15 lbs. I am going to do it if it kills me.

And it just might. lol

I've been trying to figure out a gift for the guys in my life (like my Uncles, all my cousins' husbands, etc) and then in another thread I saw the idea for a "Husband Survival Card Kit" so I am going to make those! I am going to include an Anniversary, Birthday, Just Because, I'm Sorry, Mother's Day, and Christmas cards, plus a sheet that tells them the date of the events and when to give out the card! The guys might get a kick out of it and I know their wives will love me for it. LOL!!

LOL!!
I was thinking of doing that, too. How much are you going to charge? I haven't even begun to think about a price...
