Great tips Angela and I too like your cards. I just ordered that SSK and can't wait to play with it. I'madding an 11th tip (for my use) - lock the friggin cat up so she doesn't lay on top of your work. Never fails and she isn't the helper she thinks she is!

I posted some new Christmas cards....well, this set is new to me! I never bought it from the catalog because I did not like the price and it did not seem very versitile. But for 50% off was good!

I am really trying to do some more simple cards so that I can be finished with cards and move on to tags and gifts. Though having said that last part, I do have a bunch of different things in the works for gifts....just none of them finished yet. Anyone else having that problem??

Say....does anyone have a template for a Frappuccino carrier (for 2 or 4 bottles)? I have been buying the bottles single for awhile (when they are on sale at the Grocery store) and was just wondering if anyone had tried to make their own carrier? Of course, I will have to use some lt. weight chipboard before I cover with DP.

Either post here, send me a PM or give me a link. Thanks in advance!

Love your suggestions! The last event that they had at Archiver's, you could purchase kraft cs in a package, glad that I did! Last week went with their buy 5 get 5 free for cs and going to use that and the Delightful Decoration set (has a couple of solid stamps) and do this for Christmas cards this year!! Like seeing the variety of cards you were able to make! Mary

My home computer crashed, and had to be taken in for service. I guess I didn't realize how much time I spend on it. I got closets cleaned out, new recipes tried. I finished my wedding shower gift, but forgot to take pictures, darn it. But she liked the gift, my stuff was the only holiday creations she got.

Time is slowly slipping by, I am going to make tags this week.

This site is pretty cool. Check out the post about 1/2 way down. It shows you how to hide money in a highlighter. What a fun way to give $$ to that teenager that you need to buy for!

Give them a decorated comp book, beaded pen, and a highlighter....with a loving note saying that you hope that they can appreciate the "handmade" gifts this year. (hard for a teenager, when all they want is money). Then you can tell them that they should take the end off of the highlighter.

I just might do this for my niece!! Love to see the look on her face!

Hi, Cindy --

Cardsbynikki has some instructions for a frapp bottle carrier in this post: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...php?p=14541600

Does that sound like what you're looking for?

Katie DID DO an awesome job on the tutorial! With just a few tweaks it makes the perfect frap bottle carrier. I am using it for all my snowman soups this year. I am using 12x12 cardstock, then re-inforcing the bottom and the middle divider with Gina K 120lb cardstock. It holds together well like that. The bottom gets re-inforced with two pieces of Gina K then one up the middle inside of the 5"x12" strip. Even with 4 full bottles in it, it's held up, so it worked out pretty well!

I was at my local Dairy Queen today (small hungrbuster jr, extra lettuce, tomato, and diet drink 6 Weight Watcher points), and saw them unfolding the cardboard drink carriers. Would hold four bottles, are plain brown cardboard, easy to embellish. When I go back, may wait for young person at counter, see if I can talk them out of a few.

I have never used this product but, I have heard loads of good things about it. On the Prismacolor Chatter thread, folks rave about how coloring is much nicer than SU Whisper White. Just haven't had the extra cash lately to order it.

Thanks for the rest of your tips too!

It really is the most amazing cardstock I've ever used. It's nice and strong, it's so super smooth as well. I don't use it for card bases unless I am showing a lot of white, because I do too many cards and that'd be a lot of Gina K cardstock. I do have a pack of all the colors though and it's worked great for bakery-style boxes, gift box towers, etc etc. I think I probably use it more for altered items, boxes and packaging than I do greeting cards. I made some totes with it for a "Sniffles to Smiles" type kit, and it held up nice and strong. I was able to get a can of soup in them and a bunch of other stuff, and it was nice and strong. Worth the money, but IMO it's too much to use it for every card. So I save it for projects instead. I *would* use it for every card if I had that kind of funds, but I'm trying so hard to save my crafting budget up so I can get a Boskut Gazelle! Hopefully next month! I am SO excited. Been working towards that for 8 months now!

And you're welcome - have fun making the carriers! They were so super easy!

Wonder if you could use the one's from McDonald?? Not the egg carton one but the brown chipboard one (they use it for the bigger drinks, but I always request it because the other one is too low for any kind of drink, imo).

I'll use the same technique at Dairy Queen as I do at Lowe's. High heels, form fitting slacks, scoop neck top, hair fluffed, bright lipstick. The men will stop what they are doing to carry a box of nails for me. But of course, the men in east Texas are not real bright. lol

Yeah, dead serious. I gotta get some good out of the Jazzercise/kickboxing regieme, and standing hair and nail appts. And I will play a "dumb blonde" routine if the end results will benefit me somehow.

Sigh!!!! It's hard work being a southern belle. lol

I am going to go with a friend tomorrow to a salvage tile and flooring place, going to look for tiles to stamp on, hopefully to find them cheap.

I was thinking the same thing Michelle....tags for teachers at Thanksgiving. Because that is when a lot of folks start working on buyng gifts, right?

I have some extra 8x8 page protectors that I thought might make good holders for them. And a while back I saw a tutorial on how to create a pouch/holder for them.

BTW.....went to Wisconsin over this past weekend. Found the gel pens and the RSVP pens at Staples....spent a fortune because I did not have any rewards card from them. I am making post it note holders for the teachers for halloween. I want to shower those ladies with little gifts the entire year as they do so much for Clark and this is his last year in school. Tho' you might like to know.

Don't forget to share you work!!!!

Don't forget to share you work!!!!

hi cindy!

i'm so glad you found your pens! hope you had a wonderful time too!

my demo is planning a box to put the tags in! i will be sure to post a picture when i get them done.

i love making gifts for the teachers, they really seem to like them and are so appreciative of them. mica's choir teacher is hoarding the last few cards i made so i need to be making some more for her... LOL! they are 'on the list'

happy stamping & crafting!
