My last item to decide on in the demo package is the flippin' craft pad. I don't do any scrapbooking yet and already have the white and vanilla ones.
Besides embossing, what else are the craft pads good for? What color do you recommend and why? Is there a list of things somewhere that can be done with craft ink?
Craft pads are good for everything. I got rid of my classic pads and went to craft ink. I like the coverage that I get with the craft ink. Plus the colors are more vibrant with the craft pads. The only down side is that you have a wait a little longer for dry time, but it is not a long time so no problem for me.
I would stick to a neutral colour right now so you can get the most use out of it. Since you already have white & vanilla, I would go with black or one of the browns. Someone else will know better all the different things you can do with them. I just have a vanilla and a black craft pad right now. I use them a lot to emboss with because they seem to give a different colour depth to different EP's when just embossing over versamark alone may not give exactly the result I want. They are never far out of my reach and I don't do alot of scrapbooking (yet!).

Get black, if you have white and vanilla. You can use clear embossing powder with it and it is really nice.
Craft pads are pigment ink which is the preferred method in scrapbooks to resist fading. Craft ink works great to color our chipboard also(just got regal rose for that purpose!!) Some colors work better with craft...say you want to stamp yellow on green, it will look poor and barely show up with classic ink, but with craft it will show beautifully.
I am going to go against the flow and advise you to pick your very favorite, non-neutral SU color for the craft pad. I almost never use my black craft pad (although I am inspired to bring it out now!) I love the look of my favorite color stamped with the paisley stamp on a differnent color of cardstock, for example. JulieHRR got me started on that, probably a year and a half ago, in her gallery there are some lovely samples! You can emboss your favorite color with clear embossing powder, too! Good luck with whatever you decide and post it here!
Another recommendation if you decide not to go with black? Pick your stampin kit and then choose your favorite color in that kit for the craft pad. then you'll have something that matches when you demo.
I would go with the black. I've heard that basic black craft ink embossed with irridescent ice embossing powder looks pretty awesome. I can just picture it now using Petal Prints.....ah, I'm off to the stamp room to play. I've been inspired!!!! LOL!!!

we used the craft pads and the last workshop I went to and we make coasters, Iloved how mine turned out Iused burgand and alway artichoke. If I was deciding I might start with one of these colors.

I agree! I have about a dozen craft pads and love them all, but the one I use the most is Bashful Blue. I don't have black, but I think if I did, I'd still use other colours more often.

A demo suggested to me that if you ever want to have variety of craft pads, invest in the craft spots. you have access to many colors and it won't set you back financially.

I love my craft pads!!! I would recommend the black because I love the coverage for sentiments on cards. But, any color you like will be great in craft. The Subtles look much better in craft, also.

Another vote for the Black craft pad--since you said you do not scrap yet--it is the most versatile craft pad for card making (after white and Vanilla). It is a prettier black than the classic (which you cannot switch out).
I love my Chocolate Chip pad and my Bravo Burgundy pad! I love to ink up backgrounds with Craft pads. Pick your favorite color, I say! Especially if it matches the stuff in your kit. Have fun and congratulations!
black is a great one, I love the coverage I get when I want to emboss something in black then cover it in clear. I also love how the soft subtles look on dark card stock.

Another vote for black. If not choose a nice bold color that you like. Craft is great to keep color on dark color CS, Emossing with clear EP, coloring brads etc. If I were to start over knowing now what I know I would of started with Craft Pads I have all of the spots, but am slowly getting the full pads too.
Congrats on signing up!

I too vote for black since you already have white and vanilla! You could clear emboss, or use hologram highlights EP, or Iridescent Ice EP, detail black EP......hmmm....the possibilities are endless!
