Default Karen Foster Snap Stamps - which size? *merged*

I'm trying to decide which size Karen Foster snap stamps to buy. For those of you who have them, do you use the 1/8 or 1/4 inch more often? I'm trying to tell myself that I don't need them in every size!! Please help.

I use the smallest size the most personally. But, really they are so cheap and since they are being discontinued (according to Ellen H's blog), don't you really *need* them all?? *wink*

Have fun deciding!

I just got my first 2 sets of these and they are great!! I have the mini casual and formal. (1/8 inch size) I am going to order the numbers for each, too, I think. I'm also toying with the next bigger size, but I have the SU! rough edges alpha that's about the next size up, so maybe not.

I use the 1/8 inch more. I just purchased another set of the 1/8 inch so I would have more duplicates of some letters. They still click together with my first set that I bought several months ago, but I have to work at it a bit. I recommend if you are planning to purchase multiples of a set that you do it in the same order.

Consider taking a peek at samples in the gallery to help you decide. I have the 1/8" in formal and casual and really like that size. I found the the 1/4" sets had more space between the letters than I liked, and I wasn't interested in modifying the stamps to reduce the spacing. It's all a matter of personal preference, tho!

Personally, I use the mini casual (1/8th inch), but never the 1/4 inch.

Planet43 I got mine from www.Addictedtorubberstamps.com. If you have a local stamp or scrapbook store sometimes they have them also. I have both the 1/8 and 1/4 in casual numbers and letters. I do like the mini ones better though!

You can get them at Ellen's store as well. I'm not affiliated with Ellen in anyway, just a happy customer.

I have both the 1/8 & 1/4" sizes and I find I use the 1/8th
size the most.

I have SO many lettering sets and these snap stamps are the ones I reach for all the time....a MUST own!

I am so glad i read this thread. I have the 1/8" size and was considering getting a larger size, but I think I'll just go without!

Hi Tracy,

I have the Small and Tiny in both the Formal and Casual typesets. I personally think the Small is an ideal size for cards (I think this is the 1/4" set, in case you have to go by measurements).

One thing to note is that the company is thinking of discontinuing the product line. I've emailed them to say I hope they don't - and know of many others that did the same. I think they may revise this thought - but no firm word on that yet.

I hope that helps,
Lisa

I agree with Lisa. I bought all sizes in both fonts. I use the small (1/4") sets the most. But, I only make cards.

I used the 1/8 inch more, but use the 1/4 almost as much, very rarely do I use the 1/2 inch, and then only use one letter from it.

Yup I agree, for cards the little sizes are best. I have the Medium size.. 1/2" ? and it just seems too large. I guess it will come in handy on my scrapbooks.

Karen Foster's site has everything, but the 1/8" and 1/4" casual in stock. You can order from there. It's a minimum $10 order and free shipping for orders over $50. All of the snap stamp numbers are $1.50 right now! (There a lot of other things for only $1.50 right now too!) The alphabets are the regular price, but I couldn't believe the price on the numbers. I had to have one of each!

Blogs at Splitcoaststampers

This card on Beate's blog uses the 1/4" or small casual alpha.

I can't seem to find one now, but most cards I've seen use the 1/8" casual alpha.

I have a mini set of Casual (1/8") and two small sets of Casual (1/4")...
the medium size is 1/2 inch and large is 1"

I JUST bought another set of the Small Casual because I have been using mine up a storm in my Scrapbooks and on cards...and was finding I needed more letters...luckly when I walked into my LSS they had 2 sets left and I grabbed one...I had looked on-line but the only places I could find them I would have paid almost $7 in Shipping for a $8 stamp set...if you find them I would highly recomend the small casual if you want to use them for cardmaking - AND buy 2 sets....-JMO

I recently used the small casual on this card
Forums at Splitcoaststampers
and used both the mini and the small on the card on the right (only used the mini on the card on the left)

I just received my order from Quirks of Art and I just LOVE these! OMG---I am going to have so much fun using them. I got the formal 1/8" & 1/4" alpha & numbers. I might just have to order the casual set too. ;)
