Name a Stamp set or stamp that you wish you had bought now can’t: Hard to say. I usually find a 'new' set to covet here in the Gallery. I will then haunt Ebay for months (or in some cases, years) until I find it at the price I want. I do wish I had SU's Fairyland.

Name a stamp set or Stamp that you wish you hadn’t gotten rid of: Classic Convertibles. I was down sizing and like fool sold it on Ebay for next to nothing. I bowed to pressure from my (now Ex) husband and sold a lot from that time frame.

Name an old Stamp or stamp set that is a go to for you: Stipple Plaid, Wonderful Words, Do the Hula (goes great with out new Timeless Tropical!)

Name a stamp set or Stamp that you are happy you kept: SU Puppy Love, Quilted Quotes, Meow Meow, A Beautiful Season, Wolf

Name one SU color you dearly miss: Summer Sun

Great fun!

1. A few older Christmas sets
2. I get rid of them and don't look back but I few times I have spent time looking for a set I don't have anymore
3. Close as a Memory for sympathy cards
4. Petal Palette, Thoughtful Branches, Blooming with Kindness and all my alphabet sets

Color?  So many but Marine Mist tops the list.

I also have a box in the basement called Stamp Museum that has sets I want to keep forever but will probably not use again -- Lovely as a Tree and In Full Bloom, to name two.

 Fun thread, thanks!

Retired Color: Bashful Blue. I can’t understand why this “true blue” without any green in it was retired. A perfect blue for the Sky

1: I spent a lot of time looking for an affordable I Dig You for a couple of years - I see it's still expensive and now my youngest nephew is too old for it anyway, but that was one I always wished I had bought. And the newer Word Play. That is much more affordable now, but I'd only use about half the set so I still can't justify the super-crazy shipping prices on eBay, even though the set itself is now very affordable.

2: I purge regularly and don't think I regret anything I've got rid of.

3: anything with birds or music. A Hero Arts script stamp from 2003 practically lives on my desk.

4: Happy I've kept all the ones I've kept . Especially Penny Black woodmounts.

I do reach for Bashful Blue pretty regularly because, as you said, it's a perfect blue.

I'm sure there are many retired sets that I would love if I owned them but I can't think of any at the moment.

I wish I had been able to get some Midnight Muse and Gumball Greenbefore they retired. And I agree about Bashful Blue!

Go to sets are many... all are sentiments!

I'm very happy to have kept the first Christmas Cardinal set.

Thanks for a fun thread!

1- I'm pretty happy with the stamp sets I bought, but did just see one called Beautifully Braided that intrigues me.
2- Actually, I really know what stamps I like, so can think of only one stamp I've given away that I wish I hadn't. It was a large swirly heart. I gave it to my daughter, so I know where it is!
3- I use Garden Silhouettes a lot---especially the trees, but the one stamp I "go to" most is the small texture dots from Itty Bitty Backgrounds. Love that stamp!
4- I have a large Magenta "frame inside a frame" stamp with botanicals on it that was in the give away pile for a very long time, but suddenly I got inspired to use it and was glad I had it.
5- Miss Handsome Hunter, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, River Rock and the blues that were not so greenish--- Brocade Blue, Bliss Blue and Bashful Blue.

Cornish Heritage Farms had a Christmas set that were old-fashioned signs that I wish I had.

Since I can't remember any stamps that I've purged that I miss, I must not regret any of them.

I don't really have any "go-to" sets or stamps because I'm all over the map.

If it's still in the stash, I'm still happy I kept it - can't name just one, lol. I am especially happy about poppy stamps, though, which includes about four sets and an individual stamp.

I'm very sad about Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Yo Yo Yellow and Only Orange. All/most of the current colors are muted/grayed out...

Retired set I can't get: Outback or In the Outback (2004). It had such a realistic koala, but I was a brand-new SU demo and had no clue how retiring sets worked.
Regrettable 'let-go': can’t think of one, but it would most likely be something I gave up earlier in my demo years.
Go-to set: it changes from season to season, but typically involves a penguin or koala!
Happy I kept it: SU Wetlands, Farmhouse Christmas, Spirited Snowmen, Love Bandit
Color I miss: Almost amethyst

Wish I could get: Not a set specifically, but that pair of "word window" punches is something I periodically cruise ebay looking for at a price i can afford, plus the stamps that were made to go with it. I like little sentiments and have quite a few that would go great with those.

Wish I hadn't gotten rid of: can't really think of any. I did purge all my old foam "chunky stamps" a few months ago and while i hadn't used them in eons, I have a little twinge of regret because I MIGHT want to....but that was the reason I kept them for years and years and never did so....I'll get over it! Besides that's a fad that is bound to circle back around.

Glad I kept: I have quite a few of the "artsy" goddess and celestial stamps that Acey Deucy and similar companies did and no one ever really picked up those designs or has done anything like them, and I still reach for them sometimes, so I'm really glad I have them.

Go to: Alphabet Soup and Petal Pizzazz. I also still use Painted Garden pretty regularly and that set will be old enough to buy beer in 2 more years!

Here's a challenge I'd like to see -- a lot of older stamp designs, Stampin Up and otherwise, are pretty timeless and hold up well years later, but some are very much of a particular moment and look seemingly hopelessly dated.

With some of those sets, I keep them because the whole theme together might look dated but a few of the stamps still see some use. Like I have Funky Favorites (a huge and expensive set I just hadda have back in the day) and a lot the images are too 1990s "country cute" to ever see using again, like the heart with the little round roses and the teapot/teacup. But a couple of the images are still pretty useful, like the watering can or birdhouse can look funky rather than country, done right.

But I have a couple of sets that I can't think of anything that would ever not look terribly out of date and would love to see a challenge involving finding your most dated set and seeing if you can make something out of it that doesn't look like you made it in 2003. Two SU sets I have that I feel that way about are Fabulous Four and Bold and Bright. Actually, now that I'm looking at it, Bold and Bright still has possibilities...but Fabulous Four? I feel like I should just launch that one into the sun at this point...

I used to have Fabulous Four and got rid of them some time ago. However, I had cut off the words right off the bat, and those I have for when a tiny greeting is needed.

The only Bold and Bright I have left is the baby one.  Makes for a quick baby card or parts of it for a gift card on a package.

I'm not keeping something I don't like or don't use, simply because it came in a set. I break up all my sets anyway, and put them together by theme so I can find them easily when I need them.

Me, too...

I was coming back to say that I DID remember a set that I'm glad I never purged: Close to My Heart Christmas Melodies, circa 2005...

Check out the retro blog challenge...you have to use stamps that are at least one year old.
