I was in an Inchie Swap too awhile back, and they are adorable, but I really didn't know what to do with the ones I got.

Thank you so much for the ideas Ladies! WOW! You are all fabulous!

Ok, I like the inchies, and normally when something seems "hot" to the SCS girls, I jump right on the bandwagon. However....I just don't get these inchies. Do they open like cards? Someone sell me on these....please!!!

they are just adorable...

i've seen some that opened like cards, some have been added to cards...

i posted a few links to some examples in reply #2. and a few people have posted links to blogs where there was some awesome work done with them.

maybe you'll find something that works for you.

i have a block right now... i went to my desk to work on some and it didn't go like i thought it would. i'll have to try later!

I like to start with a theme or maybe punch a bunch of squares out of a certain color paper, plain or patterned. Then often times I'll go through my box of previously punched stuff I didn't use and cut it down and start adding it to my inchies. That usually gets me started.

Here's another idea for inchies. It's a mini harmonica card in a tin, in fact the squares are a bit over 1" (maybe 1 1/4"), but it's just another idea. The inchies could be layered on cardstock...

I forgot to mention in my post that mine open like cards and I printed off tiny greetings for the inside of each one. They are just too cute!

Stampingmathilda, I love that idea! That could be used on a larger card as an embellishment, too.

Wow, Talk about having your head in the sand. This is the first I have heard about inchies! They are quite intriguing and being produced by some very talented people. What fun.

OK, I think I figured out why they are not appealing to me. They don't seem to be my taste. I'm seeing peoples heads cut out of magazines. I guess I need to try and make some that are more my style, maybe that will convince me!

I think that's the beauty of them -- you create the rules. You can even make them an inch and a half if you want. I do that a lot. You can make them whimsical, seasonal, collagey (is that a word?).

I like to make a lot of them ahead of time and then have them on hand when I need them, sort of like embellishements.

I also noticed the cuttlebug embossing folder that looks like the present with the bow on top is the perfect frame for an inchie. Sorry this is so big.

Oh, I don't like that style, either! I prefer the stamped images. I've done about twenty since this morning and have posted most of them in my gallery already. I don't seem to be able to stop! LOL!

Well, they are a type of card candy, IMO. Card candy can be anything you embellish a card with, these are all small 1" squares. Some are actually 1" square cards, which I am going to try next.

I've never heard of these. But some of these are SO cute. I like the idea of using them as card candy - I see that as little extras to my cards. I'm going to play to see what I can come up with.

Thank you for posting this : )

These are frequently swapped. There are Yahoo. groups devoted to small stuff. I make mine 1.5 x 1.5. I use a Creative Memories punch to cut the background. They can also be used as embellishments for cards. Mine and many other folks make them a bit edgier artwise. Any style is fair game. Try some. They are fun to do while watching tv. I use glue stick to put them together. I also cut images , words, and phrases from magazines and catalogues. I pen doodle around them, too. Have fun.

OMG, these are great! Too bad, with my arthritis, I don't think I'd be too good (or have too much fun) making such a small thing, but they are wonderful!

These are like the thank yous we give to people with their Girl Scout cookies, on mine are inch-and-a-halfies. I've got a couple of sets in my gallery. They are really fun to make because you're working on a completely different scale and can use images as the focal point that you could never use like that on a regular card.

Oh Bummer, I will have to keep a keen eye open for tiny tins

I just made another card today using these. I just love them. I cut some for tiny cards, but have not gotten to make them yet, LOVE the frog card idea.

Never knew there was a name for these. I have been using them on cards for a long time. Mostly at Christmas. Just use those cute little Christmas stamps you find in a set. Finally got a 1 inch punch so I don't have to cut all those little squares.
