I'm surprised this card doesn't have more comments...
So I was looking through the gallery today and found this gorgeous card that had only six comments and I was so surprised. There must have been some pretty amazing cards posted on that day for it to be so overlooked! I thought it might be fun if we found other such cards and posted the links to them here. Look through your favorites or just in the gallery at random and let's see those underappreciated fantastic cards!
It's a lovely card but I very rarely leave comments because the gallery is *SO SLOW* for me, and i'm on highspeed!!! I hate to think what's it's like for those of you with dial up! It takes me long enough just to look at them card to card...
Don't know if i'm the only one, but that's what deters me from posting comments. Simply don't have the time to wait...
Thanks for noticing, and for all your kind comments. It was lots of fun to make.

I totally agree. I have high speed wireless internet and I can post a comment and go get a glass of water and come back and it is still trying to accept the comment. I can't believe with all the progressive changes that have happened on here recently, I can still find something to complain about BUT............. (she whispers) It is awfully slow, and that does at times make me not want to take the time to post.
ANYWAY... thanks for all the wonderful changes and when you have the time could you fix this for us TOO lol
BTW I LOVE THE CARD TFS its a beauty
I think the speed really depends on the time of day. I find early morning quickest and late night slowest. I've been leaving comments today and for the most part it's been pretty speedy. Now I think I'll go look through my favorites and find an underappreciated card to add to the thread. BTW, nickelini that card was gorgeous. I left comments and it was quick.
I agree with the others, it just takes toooooooooo looonnnngggg for the comments to be posted. There are a lot that I like, but everytime I try to post a comment, I say forget it after a couple of minutes. Im not very patient
This is a lovely card. And definitely one of my favorites.
The number of comments really is no indication of how "good" a card is. I don't even pay attention to how many comments a card gets anymore. To me it doesn't make a difference.
The following factors seem to play into how many comments a card gets:
1. Who is online when the card is posted and who is actually looking in the gallery at the time
2. Popularity of the poster (a well-known poster gets more comments because people have seen her work before and tend to keep their eyes open for her postings)
3. Curb-appeal
4. Technical issues - SCS gallery troubles? Speed of the gallery - whether viewers are on dial-up - other issues - password troubles, etc.
5. Shyness - Many SCSers just don't post at all even though they love the art.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful card with us - it is by no means overlooked anymore! Thanks much.
I would love to post more comments, but I have dial up and w/ the new system SCS went to, it is so slow it shuts my computer down. So I just have to look.

I agree with everything Michelle says. To her list I add:
6. whether or not the card uses SU! stamps (SU! sets get more views (hits))
7. whether the stamp set used is current or retired (retired sets get fewer hits)
8. the first cards made with brand new stamp sets get the most hits
Like Michelle, I don't judge the quality of a card by the number of comments or views.

That is an awesome card! I think I will add to this by saying that lots of people post when a card knocks their socks off (like this one) but only if they check todays uploads. If I would have checked today's uploads on that day, I would have left a comment for sure. I can't check every day, so I miss LOTS. Because that is a retired set I wouldn't have ever gone to that gallery, so I would have never had the chance to see just how pretty it is! Thanks for sharing.

I find if I change the number of gallery items for the day, that show on a page from 12 to 24, I can glance through all the daily uploads relatively quickly. If there is an upload that catches my eye, then I'll leave a comment.

I always feel bad if I look at a card and don't post comments, but, especially today, it was taking forever for my comments to post. I tried signing out and coming back, but it didn't help. I was able to add to my favorites quickly, though, so I can always comment when I look back!
I also don't judge a card by its comments, but I have to admit that I wish I had more on a few of my own.
I find that if it is slow to comment at the usual time I'm on in the afternoon, I try to remember my favorites for the day and try to come back later that night and comment. It may not work for everybody...but it seems faster to me around 10 pm.
TFS the beautiful card at the start of this thread!
Jessica, what a cool, positive thread ! I will have to find a card I loved and will post it here on Thursday ( it's almost bedtime and Lost is on tomorrow, don't laugh! lol)

Thanks, Joni! That was the whole idea of the thread, to find and post a card you feel is underappreciated, or just one that you really like and want to share. And I would never laugh about Lost! I love that show and can't wait for the new season to start up again.
now for my confession....as I was going through my favorites I noticed that I haven't even left comments on some cards, I can come up with tons of excuses I am sure but this week end, over my morning cup of coffee, when leaving comments zips right thru, I am going to leave comments in my favs if I haven't already done so!
After I write a comment to the gallery, I hit "submit," wait three seconds, and hit the "back" arrow on my browser. Whenever I check, the comment is always there. Apparently what takes so much time is forwarding the user, not approving the comment. I can zip through the gallery pretty fast and leave comments, too.

I think sometimes so many cards are uploaded at one time that your card doesn't always appear on page one,,, I have submitted and sometimes my cards are on page 3 because of the amount of uploads,,,

:o !!!!!!!!!!!
Eeeeeeep!!!
*blushes profusely*
Thank you so much for your kind words!!!!
May I suggest some of us use this thread to share other cards with "little or no comments"? You know, just to prove that the comment or view count doesn't indicate "how good" a card is, but that a comment or two will put a smile on the creator's card.
Here's a sweet, detailed, baby card which caught my eye a while ago and I finally got around to posting a comment today, seeing as it's "No Upload Sunday". I love the hanging laundry and the picket fences!!!

Tee hee, you are welcome. You are right the baby card is adorable!
There really are some great and overlooked cards in the gallery. I usually try to take an early morning stroll through the gallery and post comments to all the cards that catch my eye.
It is true what Michelle said - the amount of comments a card has are trivial in relation to how good a card is BUT it does feel really good when your card gets a lot of nice comments. I try to make a point of reading all the comments I get on my cards and whatnot and replying if someone asks how I did something.
