Default I'm not ready to stop making Christmas cards... Anyone else?

I got such beautiful Christmas stamps and dies this year and some from last year. Several of them(many of them) I've not used at all. The ones that I did use I only made one card from them. I was starting to gather up all of my Winter holiday stuff to put away till next year and it occurred to me, I want to keep playing with them! Now that the holidays are over and I have more time, I have all kinds of ideas. So I'm going to keep playing till I'm sick of them . I already have tons of cards left over so what's a few more? I think Christmas cards are the most fun cards to make...love the glitter and shine, the colors, and the heartfelt sentiments. Anybody else feel like this?

I *wish* I felt the same way, LOL. Every year, I say I want to get a jump on next year's Christmas cards, and it always seems to be a good idea when I have all the Christmas-y stuff handy, but as soon as the magical day is over, I seem to lose my holiday mojo. I think it's awesome that you're still making them.

(In my defense, though, I will say that I just created a birthday card using stamps from a Christmas stamp set... with some modifications. It's my way of stretching my supplies, and it allowed me to play with a new Christmas set.)

I think about Christmas - and Christmas cards - all year long! I have the stamp and the idea for 2017's Christmas card already - yay!

I keep all my Christmas stamps in a large bin that is always out in my stamping area so I can make Christmas stuff anytime the urge hits me.

I have my Xmas stuff out and have firm intentions of making some cards but first I have to make a B-day card for my brother...

Glad I'm not alone. I think I have more mojo for this than anything else. It doesn't translate to decorations or food or anything else Christmasy....all my decorations are down and put away. I'm starting back on my regular food habits. But...I will keep making some cards as long as the urge is there

I got a big set of Christmas stamps today as a freebie with an order, and I've tried them out and am definitely tempted to make some cards for next Christmas

I was going to mention the Christmas card challenge, but Diane beat me to it! Christmas cards are my favorite to make and make some each month.

I wish ... nope my Christmas mojo starts early and melts away with the leftovers haha. As does my appreciation for the decorations. I'm starting to put it all away and I love the clean uncluttered house again!

I think I have more inspiration for them now than before Christmas, to be honest! Something about the pressure, maybe? I didn't make any new ones before Christmas - just sent some that I already had from prior challenges, etc. I have A LOT of Christmas papers and stamps - some new, some old - and tripped over some unexpected inspiration this morning (fabric sale), so I have some ideas that need testing...

I traditionally take down all of the Christmas stuff on New Year's Day but I kinda, sorta feel like doing it tonight. I'll see what DH thinks of that idea...

As I was putting holiday things back in their proper places I came across a 6x6 pad of holiday papers I had forgotten I had! So pretty and not even opened. Then I remembered I'd bought a few 12x12 sheets at JoAnns before the holidays, and didn't even use them either!

I can't put everything away now, who knows what I'll be doing next winter. I know what I'll be doing tomorrow even if it's just making the card fronts.

I make Christmas cards year around and most of them are made right after Christmas when life settles down. I have a box that I store them in until Christmas rolls around again. Then I don't feel rushed to get cards made.

I did this for the first time ever last year- normally I am so sick of the sight of Christmas card stuff, entirely my own fault for leaving it every year till mid November to start, then as Sue rightly says, it's all the pressure totally sucks the fun out of it.
Last year I didn't get that feeling, and carried on occasionally making Christmas Cards throughout the year. With no pressure, I had loads of ideas, and, also for the first time ever, I'd decided that I would only make a few, maybe 3 or 4 of each design, rather than my usual mass production of one or two designs. Those two approaches made the world of difference to my enjoyment of the whole process, so I shall be doing the same this year. Like the OP, I have stamps and dies never used, and this way of working should help to get at least a few used.

The nice thing about having extra cards on hand means less work next year. For those that live where it's snowy and cold, what better way than going into your happy place and playing.we were just hit with a Blizzad compliments of a colorado low on Christmas night. If I was not preparing for our drive south this week I would be in my happy place.

I am, I did not sell many this year at the fair I did and so I have enough for next year. I actually bought *gasp* my cards this year for the first time in so many years. They were really inexpensive and Peanuts so I just had to go with them.

Right now my room is covered in organizing for a scrapbook crop day this month so I am into that for now.

I'm still in the mood for Christmas cards, as well. November and December were very chaotic for us this year so I didn't get many made. Now that things have calmed down a bit, I want to play more with my Christmas/winter stamps and dies.

I've been part of the Christmas Card Challenge (CCC) for the past few years. Most of the cards in my gallery are from this monthly challenge. I bought the Santa's Sleigh stamp set and dies from SU and just want to use them. I only made one card so far, but I have a million ideas thanks to SCS and Pinterest. This is a really versatile set. It's already January so off to meet the CCC17 January challenge.

Christmas cards are my fav to make. Unfortunately this year I didn't make any due to health issues. Really missed playing with my winter stash. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to haul out the supplies and start making them now. The ladies in my monthly swap may get Christmas cards all year! LOLDea

I went thru a slump and didn't send cards for a couple of years then in 2015 I was determined to make and get them out. I hated the process the whole time but managed to get them done and mailed, even if they were late.

This past season (2016) was the complete opposite, I too didn't want to stop. I kept coming up with ideas. The muse is a funny lil creature for sure, you just never know.

I did realize something, I make cards for people that have never sent me anything. Even DH wanted to know why I wasted my time for those people and they were mostly his family. I've promised to cut back next year to eliminate some pressure on myself. Who knows if I'll keep that promise though.

Ok, so I can't stop either...love the holiday designs that are out there. I typically do 6-8 different ones, since I tend to get bored at only 1 or 2. Already have the designs set for holiday 2017...it's fun to do start in January! Starts the year off with that holiday feel, and last year, I did one design every 4 weeks or so....by December they were ready to mail. Such fun! Happy New year everyone!!

I LOVE making Christmas cards. They are my favorite to create. But, I can still make cards with snowmen (another favorite) and wintry scenes so I will enjoy that.

Last year, for various reasons, I was late starting my Christmas cards: it was a rush and I didn't use all the supplies I wanted to. This year, so far, I don't have anything which will hold me up and I still have the urge to make some more Christmas stuff. Cards for January birthdays were made in last year's batch (to save any chance of missing someone), but I will need to get going on birthday cards for the next twelve months as well as dabbling with my Christmas stash. One of these years I will manage to make a dent in the Christmas home decor projects, too!

Another vote for participating in the SCS Christmas Card Challenge - you set yourself a monthly quota and have the option of using that month's suggested theme.

I also follow a few Christmas challenge blogs and make a card for them if the theme or technique appeals to me.

All this helps me get the many cards I need ready for my charity fundraiser sale in November.

I do the same, Susan, and I also try to make one Christmas card during the regular weekly challenges I do here on splitcoast. Not always weekly but I usually get a few done during the month. If I can make a total of 5 a month in all these areas I have the number I need by the time Christmas arrives.

I have to agree that I have more time to take on them than I would trying to get them done in the month of December.

I'll continue to make christmas cards for a few more weeks before getting into valentines and birthday cards. There's no pressure to finish on time now so it's a great time to be doing them. And as someone mentioned.... there are still all those untried stamps and tons of papers to use. I will never catch up on that and it's okay. I usually start back up with Christmas around the middle towards the end of October. The most I make of any card is 3 because I find it tiresome to do more and I'm afraid I will get sloppy, too. My mind is usually racing to create the next card.

I'm a long-time proponent of stamping "for yourself" ... i.e. stamp what you feel like stamping! It's our joy to stamp ... so why not indulge our own preferences? LOL

Some of us feel obligated to stamp certain things at certain times, Valentines before February, Fall/Thanksgiving cards in Sept., etc. And maybe our classes or design team requirements are at the head of our calendars. But past the requirements and perceived 'rules', add whatever adjustments to the above plan that works for you ... and love the stampy joys!

Default Not cards, but xmas tags

I have all my xmas tags made for xmas 2017. I saved all the small paper bits from making my cards, plus i recycle what i can from storebought cards received. Got out all my suitable stamps and punches and went to town. I have an empty clear SU stamp case packed with tags ready to go. pam in northern illinois

The beauty of this hobby is that you can make what you want when you want. If you enjoy making Christmas cards, go for it! After I sent Christmas cards this year I counted what I had left. 365! At 72 yrs old I don't think I'm going to need all those! I saw stamps and dies that caught my eye but I forced myself to look away. I am not going to make anymore Christmas cards. That's not going to stop me, however, of making all kinds of other cards!

This is the first year that I am making Christmas cards for next year. I have 40 done for family and friends. When the new Christmas catalog comes out in September I will plan my cards for my crafty friends and customers so they get a card with current SU items. I plan on making some tags as well before I put all my Christmas craft items away.

I made a few Christmas cards today! I am going to try and make ten or so cards every month this year. It is my hope that when December rolls around next year I will have a large stash.

I actually just found 4 cards I made for the Christmas just gone! So I have a mini-stash already for Christmas 2017
