Default Ikea - what storage items to look for

We have a new Ikea store opening soon and I seem to remember that some of you have found neat storage items for your stamp pads and other stamping related items. What should I be looking for? If you have pictures that would help, too. Also, regarding the stamp pad storage, will it work for old style pads? I've got only 2 new pads and lots of other pads. I'm also interested in any other storage solutions you found at Ikea.

Default Love IKEA

Here's what I use. They are DVD holders. They are only 4.99 and I have one for each family and there are 17 slots, so it holds all sorts of stuff. Just make sure if you deside to get these that they are DVD and not CD, I made that mistake and had to take them back.....too skinny. They mount easily to the wall, so you could have a whole wall full. woo hoo:mrgreen:

I even saw someone mount them on a turntable, I don't know if I am that handy but it looked cute.

They have a lot of square storage shelves too, based on the size you are looking to organize

I love IKEA!

That's so cool! And at only $4.99 each, what a deal! We just got our IKEA here in the Detroit area (Canton) in June and it seems like I'm up there every other week! Thanks for giving me another excuse to head to Canton! :0)

I bought a couple of the cardboard storage boxes (the maroon ones) for my retired sets. Their FLYT magazine holders are a good buy for the money, too!

IKEA is the best for storage! Check out the pics of my stamping space in my gallery - most of what's there is from IKEA!

I also have the CD holders for ink storage - hands down the best I've seen as long as you have space on your wall to hang it. Love it!!

The square shelving unit and baskets at the bottom are from IKEA, as are all of the magazine holders on the second to last row of shelves...such a great value for all of it!

Have fun - you'll be going nuts!

I also have these DVD racks, but they do not hold the old ink pads. The old ink pads are too thick.

If you want the DVD holders get them while you can. The Atlanta store has been out for a while.

Reminds me I need to go check and see if they have them

If you get the white magazine holders, you can stamp on them. Here's a picture of some I did for my craft room:

I SO wish there was an IKEA near me. I travel some too, and still can't find one close! I really NEED (ie: WANT) some Stackebo DVD holders, but after calling a store I can't even talk someone into mailing them to me. IKEA has great customer service, so I thought they'd do it. Boo,hoo!

You can order IKEA on line and they ship to you. But they don't carry everything in their stores in the online store so the stackbo dvd holders may not be an online item. I don't know. But it can't hurt to look. HTH

I've recently been to the Dallas and Houston Ikeas and both were out of the
dvd holders. They had tons of cd holders but no dvd holders. I hope this doesn't mean they are getting rid of them. :( I need a few more.

I came up with a little IKEA solution for my room. They sell these little rails, kind of like a chalk rail on a chalk board. They're about 3 feet long and come in white or stainless, and I think another color. The white are about $7 and the stainless are $10, I think. Anyhow, I bought 4 of them but need lots more because I hung them on the wall and put the stamp sets boxes on them like they're being displayed in a store. I staggered them and got them to fit two boxes deep, so each rail holds roughly 10 stamp sets and I can see them all at a glance. I'll see if I can post a pic, but my craft room is still such a disaster, I might not be able to find my way out if I go in there!

IKEA rocks.

I guess I didn't mention I tried this route. They don't/won't sell the Stackebo DVD units online -- you can ONLY get them at a store.

My Ikea has the Stakebo DVD holders. If anyone would like me to send some to them just email me... [email protected]
I have one for each color family and love them!

You could walk through any part of their store and think up fun ways to use their items in non-traditional ways. I got two CD holders that sit on the wall, they are wood with glass sliding doors. I have some nick-nacks in them as well as a bunch of spice jars with little embellishments like micro beads, etc.
