Default I need your opinion!!!

How much would you pay for these party favors? The boxes are all handcut & folded. It took me three days to finish all 120 of them. I did them for a client and am not too sure how much to charge her! I need your advice! It cost me about $2.00 a box (at wholesale prices!)

I would calculate how many hours it took you, times what you want your hourly rate to be. Add that to your expenses, and that's the price.

I'm a little scared that you did all that work without setting a price in advance, though! I hope you get a fair price for your time!

Very nice. Is the chocolate included? How much did you pay for that?

If it cost you $2.00 just for the boxes wholesale, I would figure $4.00, then you'll have to figure out what your time was worth, then add the cost of the chocolate.

I agree with Kristie. But, on an aside-is that ribbon from May Arts? I think I used it today!!

Did that $2 price include the chocolates? If it didn't, I sure do hope you at least spoke with your customer about a possible price before you made them all. I say this because I sell wedding favors and invitations and I sell beautiful gold favor boxes (in the pillow shape like you made) at a price of 70 cents each (this is my xsmall size) and 90 cents each for my small size.

I always figure two-and-a-half times the total cost (to you) is the sale price. So, if it cost you two dollars each, I would charge $5 each. Just my opinion....

This is what I was taught, When selling things that I had made. This way you get something for your time and money.

I would have set a price before doing all the work, I hope she isn't surprised by the price. these are just fabulous! Unfortunately i find people don't seem to understand the amount of time and $ we put into these projects

Thanks for all of you input. To answer some of you, yes a price quote of $3-$4 (depending on ribbon & floral spray used) was given and the customer was fine with the price. Her exact words were "Go for it!". But I guess after calculating $4 by 120 favors, I thought to myself, that's nuts! I figured since she ordered so much I'd cut the price down. I just needed some advice from you other crafters since we know how much time goes into making these projects. As crafters, we understand and would pay the money but to others they may see it as a rip-off. Oh and yes, the chocolates were included. Thanks for all of your help!

was the chocolate included in the price of $2 that you gave us? I think that $4 per box is not that bad. Tell her the price of $4 per box, then let me tell you if there is a problem with paying that much. To be honest, she wouldn't have been able to make them that cheap, and to buy something like that she would certainly have paid more then that.

The boxes are beautiful, but man am I drooling over that carmalized nuts in the one bar!
