Default I may get slammed, but...

is anyone but me getting tired of Looks Like spring? I have the set and it just sits there looking at me. I can't get enthused at all about using it. :>(

No slamming from me While I liked the set when I first saw it, I have resisted getting it, and honestly, I'm not sorry. It's a nice set and I do like the 2 mini background stamps, but pretty much everything is starting to look the same with it.

it is a pretty set but your right to me it's just another daisy set.I did however find just the lines background stamp on ebay and was able to get it buy it now.so to speak .It was the only piece I really cared for since I already have the print pattern bg stamp and even though it's smaller than that one I still plan on using it on top of it.

I have seen lots of nice cards done with that set.But I have lots of floral sets now an really don't need another basic daisy set.so I passed ob this one.same goes for simple said.nice set but again daisy.

I have to agree with you, I didn't buy it either. It just didn't do anything for me from the start! There are alot of nice cards made with it, way more than I expected! Good job ladies who are using it!

I kind of agree. I love the set, but I think it isn't terribly versatile, so yes, the cards end up looking similar....

Some sets are just more versatile and lend themselves to more variety in layouts and design.

Like long-time friend is one of my fave sets right now, but it is also a set that has limited variety... I mean, with that flowerpot's size, there are only so many different layouts you can use. Is it lovely? Yes, but it is also limiting. I loooooove that set still, but I could understand why people might not open and comment on every LTF upload because they start to look the same.

What?? Blasphemy and vile words!!!! LOL

I kind of like this set, but I'm sure when the new catty comes out LSS will begin to dim in the glow of the new sets gleaming from its pages.

No Slamming here! I have the set coming, but was never dead crazy about it. There were *parts* I wanted from it. I'm sure, i'll make a couple of things and get my money out it, if not, that's what the BSOT forum is for ! LOL

I, personally, LOVE the set!! I'm sure with everything, if there is too much exposure, the newness wears off. Maybe that's what you are thinking with all the wonderful uploads lately using that set. But that's what makes it great, some we love, some we hate!! But there's always something for everyone.

First I admit I'm a snail adhesive freak and now I guess I'm on a roll...I don't like the Looks like Spring set. I didn't think I'd ever say that out loud, because everyone else likes it so much. That said, I'm amazed with some of the cards people came up with! I have saved quite a few of the cards to my favorites, but I still don't have an interest in owning the set. I wish the mini background had been sold separately, I was interested in that.

Not gonna slam you...but I LOVE THIS SET! I've been so busy lately that I haven't been able to stamp anything, and it just keeps calling to me (along w/ my new backgrounds, which aren't even mounted yet).

Where did the love go?!

I loved it to death when it came out in the catalog. Sure, its another flower, but I didn't have THIS flower yet and it has the cool matching punch! I wanted to sing & dance! How much better could it get?!! ... I saw the first cards come out and I thought "hey, cool!" ... then I saw more come out, and more come out, and MORE come out! Pretty soon, I was seeing those @#*& flowers in my sleep, swimming tauntingly in front of my eyes.

I am so disappointed now that I am sick of it. I didn't even get to order it yet and I have had my fill before I have even touched it. Kind of makes you want to cry, don't it? Oh well ... if it was "meant" to be, they love would still be there, right?!

No slamming here - I felt the same way you do about Heartfelt Thanks. It was a nice set but somewhat too popular (is there such a concept?) I just wish SU had come out with a large daisy punch on the LLS set. I wouldn't be surprised to see Looks Like Spring in the new big catalog since they probably went to a lot of trouble to bring out that matching punch.

Whew! So glad someone said it first!!
I was actually just talking about this the other day with someone. It isn't like me at all, and when I first saw it, I said "oh, I wish I could just get the backgrounds". The fact that you almost "have" to have the punch with it really deterred me -- the set + the punch are more than a full month's budget for me.

I got the punch but not the stamps... I'm using the punch with patterned and the flowers look just fine to me...

For me, the punch was a must have... The stamps I passed on...

Just my two cents worth... :O)

This is how I felt about the tag punch in the previous mini. I have the full size stamp pads of the colors in the kit and I don't want the tin. I'm really hoping the punch will be in the new catalog by itself.

I'm with you OP. I liked it too, and I don't have it because I am also sick of it. And those colors, sick of those. It all looks the same to me also.

I love it. I know everyone has been using it a ton, but I think that is what I like about it. I have made some awesome cards with it. I have several more ideas in my head. I think when the cards are made with the co ordinating paper they do tend to resemble eachother. My sister on the other hand, who is a Demo is sick of it and she doesn't even own it.

Too funny....I really thought the same as you...could not imagine what the fuss was about. I had absolutely no interest in that set and ordered three others out of the Spring Mini. The only problem is that I am seeing some of the cards and can feel my arm being lightly twisted in the "buy it" direction. So guess I'd be one of the converts.

One thing to remember -- our cards really should go further than the SCS gallery!! We may recognize the set, but your non stamping friends, relatives, will have no idea that there are 7000 other samples similar to it!! I say if YOU love it, use it.

I had a chance to use it at my demo's house one night and I blanked out. I just could not get motivated with it. But it's definitely one I want because of all the gorgeous cards in the gallery made with it. Even if I have to flat out case a card to get started with it, I think I'm getting it anyway.

I sympathize with ya!

Oh my goodness I thought I was the only one who didn't like LLS! I have seen and even received some beautiful cards made with it, but for some reason I just never had an interest in owning it and I have gotten tired of seeing so much of it in the gallery. Whew - can't believe I admitted my secret!

I do love it, but you are right there have been a lot of samples of it.

I haven't gotten mine yet I won't till the Spring Mini is amost done, so I will just be getting into it when everyone else has moved onto something else. I will keep this thread in mind and try to do something different with it when I get it. I am already thinking up some usual color combos for it.

I have just ordered the set but I don't have any other floral SU sets so this is my only one so I feel it's a good start for me.

It's perfectly fine to not like a set. There are LOTS of sets that I don't particularly care for AT ALL...unfortunately, the creative people on this site really know how to make you change your mind - some people do AMAZING things with sets I thought I would never want (but do now!)

Good point! I forget this ALL the time!!!!
Same thing with techniques -- just because the people here don't (or do) think a technique is super-hard or fabulous, doesn't mean "nonstampers" won't (or will)!!!

I just received my set and punch and am in heaven!!! I am hoping tonight to get a chance to play and make some cards. I however, have not gone into the gallery to look at the many samples. I will head in and peek once I come to the point where I need some inspiration.

I think this set is gorgeous and very versatile. At my last stamper's 10 class we made the cutest little matchbook using this set...I LOVE IT!!!

No slamming here though...I love hearing everyones thoughts and comments. Very insightful!!

I have it and I really see myself using the big flower in backgrounds when scrapping, and I love the two backgrounds everywhere, so much easier for little background stamps in a collage . . . so much easier to ink up and clean the little ones than my bigger backgrounds. The other stamps don't do a whole lot for me, although I do have and use the three flower punch.

I agree that it has been a bit overused. But my friends and family don't know that!

I have it and like it. Most of the cards posted do look pretty much the same because of the matching papers, but I enjoy the challenge of coming up with something different from the crowd. I've had some fun with it.

I agree with the weird blob . . .I saw someone stick it so that the blob part was hidden underneath the main image and the friend part was all that was seen, and I thought that was a great idea!

Funny that people are coming out to say they aren't crazy about the stamp set. I'm one of them who didn't buy the set. I ordered Simply Said instead and I also got the flower punch, figured I could punch it on patterned paper. I've seen pretty LLS samples on the gallery but I just didn't want to buy the set. Now, if anyone wants to send me a free set, I'd be fine with that! LOL. Just kiddin'! It'd be cool if they came out with a large daisy punch in the catty.
