Smile I have some stamping questions and thoughts

Hello everyone:

Me and my friend figure out for my created a card. And this is what she say: Thanks Linda

Hello everyone,  Linda and I have accomplished the first collaboration of our card!! Linda designed the card, with my physical supplies and labor.   Linda picked from choices of paper and embellishments i offered and she chose the Sketch Challenge.   We exchanged emails with photos to get all choices made.   Now the card is done, Linda posted it tonight!  YAY!   I will drop the blank card in the mail to her tomorrow and she will have it to give to a special friend, someday.
I hope some of you have the time and extra supplies to continue to help Linda be the 'designer' of cards and we do the crafting.   It seems, we all make a great TEAM!

I will continue to collaborate with Linda, when I can, and I hope some others will find this fun to chat and work with Linda and keep her creating.
here is the link:

take good care, Teresa

Hello stamping friends:I have some stamping questions and thoughts. I lost my mom stamping partner about fifthteen months ago. You see I am handicapped and my hand work very well. So I have stamped since mom passed away because I have noone to help me stamp.

Most of stamp things are boxed up setting in the garage. I miss stamping but my dad doesn't anything stamp nor dose he have patiences to learn. I used take the cards to Tulsa Ok. To the cancers patients were mom got her treatment.

And watch people grab the free cards. I miss put smile on people face. And that hurts me That I can stamp anymore. I have try to find someone to stamp with or to help stamp. Since I love it so much and it hurts my heart. That I can't stamp. But, I have no such luck. Some suggest I go to the gallery and leave comments on people gallery. But, that not fold filled enough to me.

So I was things stamping buddy or penpal. That would came here and talk about stamp things and such. What do you all think about? Is There thoughts on this?

I would like some help to do this. Would someone be willing too help post something and get the ball roll?

And there must be something I can do to help others. I feel like that was my minstier make cards donation them to make people smile. I feel like I have no minstiery now. And missed all fun too.

I am trying to find ways have to fun. And bring fold fillment in my live. And bring joy and smiles people faces And aways to help others. I have always wanted to help too. And I am at a loss on this happened without my stamp buddy witch was my mom!
Thanks Hotwheels AKA Linda

Hi Linda, I'm so sorry about all you are going through.  I'd be glad to talk stamping with you.  Maybe someone here will have a good idea on how you can minister in another way to people.  I know a lot of times just a kind word from someone can make a person's day!  And with all that is going on with Covid, a lot of people are needing a smile or kind word.  You have such a good heart to want to give to others.
Do you have people you can read to or people you can cheer up with a kind word or a phone call?  God uses us in all kinds of ways; and they are not always obvious; sometimes, they are simple or unrecognized by ourselves.  Sometimes, just being a good example or being kind speaks volumes to others about what it truly means to be a blessing from God.
Much love to you!  Is there a simpler kind of card you can make; I could always send you some images to color and some card bases and envelopes, colored pencils etc..?  Or if you know people there you can share cards with but not able to make them, I'm sure people (myself included) would be glad to send you the cards, if you were able to write a nice message inside and share them with people there.  Just brainstorming... does any of that sound good?
I could also send you an adult coloring book and pencils etc. if you are able to color.  You could always share the colored pages with someone with a kind note on the back of them.  If you can't color, we could figure something else out, as there are lots of cards you can do without any coloring.    Anyway, blessings to you!  Hope you are having a better evening!  Let me know if any of those ideas sound appealing to you.

I'm sorry about your mom.
Are you able to use your hands at all?
Would you be able to position die cut outs onto card bases or use a stamp tool like the Misti or Stamparatus to stamp (these require cling or photopolymer stamps, not wood blocks)?
I'm evacuated from my home right now but would like to try and help you somehow.

First, I’m so saddened to hear of the loss of your Mom and stamping buddy!!! To lose both in the same person must be heartbreaking. Many prayers and hugs coming your way!!
I second the stamp misti/stampatatus idea if you are able to position the stamps.
Are you able to get to the cancer center or another center where you could teach others?? I know this ccp virus has put a halt to a lot of that.
I also second the idea of reading to someone. Perhaps your local library can put you in touch with someone who could both train you and hook you up with someone who needs your help. Maybe do it through zoom, FaceTime, or messenger so you can see each other and maybe enjoy a cup of tea or coffee together as you share the book.
What hobbies does your Dad do? Could you go with him and learn a whole new hobby? I’m sure he is grieving also, making it hard for him to comfort and recognize your needs.
Have you tried a grief share program? Perhaps you could meet someone there who loves to stamp. I know stamping was the best therapy after I lost my Mom. The gal who worked at the cremation place was a stamper, goes to show you never know where you’ll meet someone with your hobby.
If you’re able, I used to cut pictures out of magazines, catalogs, and calendars to use on cards. It’s not stamping but you are making cards to share and bring smiles. I’m sure if you’re like most of us you have a nice stash of card stock and embellishments to fancy them up and make them your own special creations.
If dexterity is an issue have you tried the pick-a-tool (not sure it’s the right name) for the embezzlements and arranging die cuts?
There’s also card kits where most of the cutting etc is already done.
Sorry to ramble on. I hope you get just the right idea to solve your dilemma. Your heart is in the right place. {{{{hugs}}}

Can you still color and glue layers and die cuts down?
Would it help if you receive stamped images.
Or would you need a full card kit put together to help you out including card base?

Is there a way to connect with another stamper or two where you live and have them come over to help you make cards?  Where I live, we have a program called Faith In Action and while it's designed to take people to doctors' appointments and grocery shopping, it could be used for something like this with a willing volunteer.  Or maybe contact local churches to see if there's a way to meet with another stamper who could help you make cards.  A local church may even have a card ministry you could participate in.

I couldn’t find a gallery for you. I’d love to send some pieces and parts to make some cards. Do you have a particular style you like, colors and embellishments you enjoy using?  Don’t sell yourself short, we are our own worst critics. My sister loves all my cards. I told her I wasn’t going to use a piece I had done because it was awful, she said without hesitation, send it to me, I’ll love it. So I did. She didn’t even realize the piece I said was so awful was the one she got. Soooo, don’t sell yourself short!  Anything made with love is much appreciated by most. Let me know if I can send some small “kits” for you to use, it would be my pleasure.

I don't any stampers where I live...... I go church 45 mins away form where live there craft people there.... But they not into stamping either. And stamp supplies would cost the people I think some of supplies dry out. And I can't afford everyone supplies. But just wanted people Jesus Love them throw the cards ministry. beside put smile on people faces. My heart  hurt because I feel this was away I could give to people and smile on their faces. And down I feel like my ministry gone down drang. And now purpose in live. With me be in a wheelchair I can't do much. I enjoy stamping so you see this is much more than stamping. My dad is my caretaker. We have lady come in help take care of me too somewhat? But, She is not stamper and don't trust her with my stamp things either. Thanks hotwheels

Default gallery for Paper Pumpkin

Is there a gallery here for Paper Pumpkin sets/kits? Once the kit is made there are still many cards to be made with the set.

There isn't a fixed gallery to upload to, but many people use the keyword MPP to create a keyword-driven gallery: Mpp - Homemade Cards, Rubber Stamp Art, & Paper Crafts -, you can also see a link for it on the gallery home page, first image on the left, fourth row down:

Linda, just want you to know I think about you and pray for you quite a bit.  Where I live there are activities for people with challenges, through the Parks and Rec department.  Maybe there is something similar closer to you and they have made safe ways to help people.  I am sure Covid has changed the way they do things, but hopefully they still have things in place.

Do you have any sibings?  I remember you creating a birthday card for a sister way back in the Stamp TV days.  Possibly a sibling could help find someone who has the same kind of hobby or a new hobby that would help you feel happiness once again.

I just thought your sisters might be an asset for supporting you in finding help.  Sorry they are not helpful for you.  Totally understand about not being interested in activities and not wanting to pay for things you are not interested in.  Again, just another thought.  Totally understand the frustration in some regards.  I do not have your physical limitations, but can understand frustration.  Hang in there!

Yes, I do make kid's cards, but also a few for adults also.  I have been really into the cutesy look on my cards, but making a few more floral ones and more adult looking cards.
No, I haven't bought any Stampin Up in a while.  I did buy CTMH (Close to my heart) when I had a friend that was a seller.  Now I just get different brands that I like.  Trying to be good and not buy much, because who knows what will happen with covid and the economy, so trying to save money.  I will occasionally buy something from Gina K., Lawn Fawn, My Favorite Things etc...  I like all different brands and styles.

Well, actually I just bought my first Gina K. set the other week.  It was a set on clearance called Bounty of Blessings.  I really like her stamps and her style of cards.

Hey Linda,
Would your dad be able to set up a Facebook account (if you don't have one already) for you so you could use Facebook Messenger?  I'm thinking, I can offer to work with you 2x a month by FB Messenger. I also like the Anna Griffin style. Perhaps others might be able to work with you using Facebook Messenger. PM me and let me know what you think.

((hugs)) on Mom. That's always a hard loss. I lost my mom too.

I totally get when a hobby is much more than just hobby. Don't despair. Let's think on this a bit. What part of Texas are you in? Maybe we can help hook you up with a stamper. Covid may make it a little tough for awhile...but one thing at a time.

Maybe another church close enough has a card ministry? I know it is not easy to let strangers play with your stash lol...but you don't have to take a lot. Just maybe some stamps you want them to stamp for you...ask them to help you make your supply piles you build from later.

I looked at your gallery. I see tons of perfectly fine cards! I see you glue things...so what if we send you die cuts? Like shapes, layers, words and so on? No coloring required. Or maybe someone will do a bit of coloring for you and send along some characters to pop on there. We send you pre-made stuff-there is still plenty of work to do to figure how you want to assemble it. I struggle most with that part of it myself!

I see you using stickles. What about alcohol inks? You can make some really great backgrounds that are free-form and just put a sentiment on it.....

We enjoy seeing you here on posts and your cards. You have a have a creative mind, a huge generous heart and kind words for people here. More than a lot of people I know with full use of their bodies. You have value in the world!!! Don't ever feel like you don't. You are a SCS peep! ((hugs))

Well, actually I just bought my first Gina K. set the other week.  It was a set on clearance called Bounty of Blessings.  I really like her stamps and her style of cards.

Sorry Linda, I don't do the challenges here. I cant help with that.
If you can talk about what the problem is maybe someone else can help you with them.
Which way 30 min from Fort Worth Linda? Like North, south....? Sorry but it would help people to know. We don't need your exact address. Just a little more specific.

Hi Linda,
I've been reading through some of the posts in this thread and am trying to understand what kind of help you are asking for. I am so sorry about the loss of your mother. It sounds like your mother was a special woman, and was your special crafting buddy as well. It must be devastating to have lost her.
It sounds like you are not asking for stamping kits and/or supplies so much as someone to talk to about crafting, and share ideas. Is this correct? I'm sure that you are missing the emotional support that you got from your mother, and that you miss the special time that you spent together.  You mentioned that your dad does not want a lot of craft supplies sitting around, and that you already have a lot of those. I understand that it is very difficult for you to work with those supplies to put cards together, but that you miss being able to donate your cards to different groups as you have done in the past.
My heart goes out to you during this tough time. The COVID situation has made it even more difficult, as we are unable to get together with others. I thought at first that you were looking for supplies to make cards, but you mention having boxes full of things in the garage. So I am thinking that you are mostly looking for someone to chat with about stamping, the challenges, and to feel connected. Is this right? Just trying to understand what you are hoping for and need, so that we can be of help.
Hugs,
Karen

Linda, if you would like to PM me your address, I would love to send you a card and a note to give you some encouragement. I know that you like to donate your cards to others, but it's always nice to get happy mail for yourself as well, right?

That brings Challenge with in it's self. And that is hard to explain so I have not trying to explain either. And Dad is a very perfected right now. So that makes hard too. I not sure the stamping buddy is go to happen anytime soon. And that breaks my heart. I feel like wasted all time hands.
Just trying to understand what you are hoping for and need, so that we can be of help.

HI Linda, liked a lot of the ideas offered to you from other stampers. I have a friend who lost her left arm to cancer 15 years ago and continues to stamp.  She has a husband who has made many adaptations for her to be successful.  He does have to do scissor  cuttings for her.  Her obsession currently is making hand made flowers from foamiran.  Also has started sharing stamping videos to post in a FB group.Would like to put you in touch with her to talk about stamping, if you are interested, she is in Michigan.  Pls email me, if interested at [email protected].  She also does cards for her church and care pkgs to military.
