I finally did it!
Sometime in 2008, I decided to make at least one card from every stamp set that I own. Well, here I am two years later and I finally finished my self imposed challenge! I went through some missing mojo times where nothing was created and then there were times when I bought a bunch of new stuff and had to incorporate those sets into my goal. Just in case you are wondering (should I be embarrassed to admit this?) I have 196 stamp sets. I've been stamping for 14 years, so that's not too bad, I guess.
I learned that my style has changed over the years and that some of the sets I HAD to have were the hardest to create something with.
There were several sets that I struggled through and I have decided that they can go to a new home without me missing them. If you're interested in those, I've listed them on the BST forum.
Anyway, I highly recommend this method of getting the creative juices flowing if your mojo goes away. Thanks for all the inspiration you've provided me!
Happy New Year!

I'm going to do that starting in 2011. I have some stamps I just had to have and I've never used them, not even once. This way I'll find out if I really have to have them. And I'm going to do the same things with all my cardstock and DP.

That is a fabulous idea! I am totally going to try this. Sometimes I don't even know where to start with what I have but I think this will really get the creativity going.

Congratulations, Jennifer! This is a wonderful challenge to yourself and I'm glad you had fun with it. It's so inspiring--I think I might just try that myself in 2011!

That's awesome...sadly I don't think it's in the cards for me...maybe in 30 years or so when I can retire (hopefully anyway) but then I'll have 2 million times the stamps I have now, LOL!
Congrats...now post some of those puppies

Awesome goal, Jennifer!
The other days I paged through my binders (indexes) and it was very cool... it's like going through stamp catalogs and remembering stamps I have and then thinking, "Wait! I have that one... oh yeah... this is my binder. Duh."
Old age stinks.
Or so I've heard.
Then again the alternative is worse! :P

A few days ago I challenged myself to do this in 2011...I have stamp sets that are not even mounted yet (which I understand might be normal around here in SCSville)....
I am an SU hobby demo...have tons of retired cardstock and dsp...and above mentioned stamps...so my challenge is this:
Use 1 stamp set per week using retired cardstock - make 6 of the same cards - keep two for myself and the other four go into a box to ship to Operation Write Home!
Anybody else want to 'get together' monthly and see how we are doing?????
Happy New Year!!

Wow! I have thought about doing this, but I have never been quite ambitious enough to take it on. I am impressed!

WOW! What a great idea and a huge accomplishment. I did a big clean out of my sets this fall, but even at that it would be a challenge. Congrats.

Wow, what an amazing challenge!
I have limited space in my studio so although I'd love to own 196 stamp sets it will never happen for me! LOL My challenge would be a lot smaller.

I made this challenge for myself at the beginning of 2010. My goal was to use every set I own this year. I'm down to four sets left, so I should make it. I'm going to use two sets on one card, and the other two sets will be used for a scrapbook layout I have planned. I have three more days to get this done!
I don't know exactly how many sets I have, I'd estimate around 150 or so. I did buy some new sets this year, and I made certain to use them right away.
It was a very fun challenge that I greatly encourage you to take on. It was a lot of fun digging out some SU sets that are 8-9 years old and using them with new cardstock colors or Nestabilities, etc. It was like having new stuff again.

Good for you! That sounds like it was quite a challenge you imposed on yourself, and you succeeded - wonderful! When you say you use "every set," are you using every stamp from every set as well? Or are you just using something from every set?
This sounds like a wonderful challenge, but for someone like me who owns bagoodles of individual stamps, I'm not sure how it would translate.
Also sounds like a good way to purge inventory.
Hope you feel good about your accomplishment; you deserve it. :0)

Not every stamp from every set. Some of the sets have some really weird stamps that I couldn't figure out what to do with. I'm never sure how to use those single stamps that say things like "bliss" or "delight." Thanks for your kind words.

Thanks everybody! Now that I have made it through, I'm feeling a little at loose ends. I think my next challenge will be either to reduce my inventory of patterned paper or go through some idea magazines and try to replicate some of the card layout designs. Or maybe I should go back and start at the beginning again!
Have a wonderful new year! We are gearing up for a blizzard today and tomorrow.

As someone who owns bagoodles of individual stamps, I can tell you this translates PERFECTLY. Like the OP, I started this challenge two years ago (without a deadline), and while I am not quite done, it has been WONDERFUL! You can do it, and it's a GREAT way to purge inventory with confidence.

Fantastic idea! I've been toying with something like this for a while, because I have so many stamps that I've never used, beyond stamping them in my catalog. I tend to make cards as needed, and many of the stamps I've bought aren't for any specific occasion, or for a non-card holiday (Thanksgiving, for example) so I've never used them.
I hadn't gone so far as to challenge myself to use everything, but I had thought about going through my index binder, finding a set or stamp that I haven't used that's speaking to me, and making something with it.

Me too- and then as I read this, it suddenly popped into my mind that those single words would work well on an ATC! I'd then use techniques, images, etc that would support the idea of the word.

oooo I like that - I was going to suggest creating a background with them. I have seen a band 3 times this year and one of their songs is "Bliss" so I know I could use that stamp if I had it!
Way to go Jennifer - I haven't made the pledge yet but I'm sure I will at some point.
