thats not a silly question. It is a swap! There are several on here, so I'm not sure which one you are talking about.
The secret sister swap that I am in is for three months. August is our last month then they start again in Sept. We send at least 3 cards a month to our secret sister and one $5 gift each month. We in turn recieve from a secret sister. It is so much fun!
I've been curious about this, too. Are the cards made out to them or are they blank for their personal use? What kind of $5 gift? A stamped item? A stamping supply? Thanks!

I send blank cards so my SS can use them. The gift can be anything, hand stamped, stamping supplies, other this & that's that your SS likes. We fill out a q&a at the beginning telling about things we like/dislike, other hobbies, family. things like that. A lot of SS's also email to get to know eachother better. It's a whole lot of fun. The divine secret sisterhood is starting a new group in september! HTH!
Just to make sure the originator of the question understands, you remain anonymous to the person you are sending to. You have to be careful not to put your name on return envelopes or sign your name inside. I just put "Secret Sister" with the address. We set up anonymous Yahoo e-mail accounts so that the secret sister can let you know that she received her goodies without knowing who you are.
A church I used to go to had secret sisters all the time, so when SCS started doing this, I signed up for the group that ends in August. It is a lot of fun to receive things, but I have really enjoyed sending, too. It forces me to get out my stuff and play around.
The gals that coordinate will post a thread for you to sign up. The Divine Secret Sisterhood (the one I'm in) has their own forum. We also have a section in the gallery for you to post cards and gift that you receive from your secret sister.
Thanks for the info, even though it's not my thread . I can't wait to sign up in September. Do they tell you what you need to do when you sign up? Thanks!

I signed up for Round 2. I am having a lot of fun with it. I have met two great stampers and the experience has gotten me to a. stamp more and b. try new techniques (trying to impress my SS). I am looking forward to Round 3.
