I don't want to shimmy

My cuttlebug worked so well until I used a bit thicker card stock with nesties. Now its looser. I don't want to shimmy every time I use it with lightweight paper. Has anyone opened up the bug and tightened it?
Thanks!

its also possible that you have made so many cuts you have worn your cut pads a bit thinner...

my thought is its way easier to keep your shims with your cut pad and tan mat then it would be to have to figure out how to put your bug back together again...... {mind flashes to humpty dumpty here}

Everyone's bug has a slightly different opening in it (and depending on wear) i think shims are just a natural progression.

i have to agree that over time your machine will loose some 'UHMPH' (for lack of a better term) and you will probably have to use a shim.

i know that mine has...

i don't plan to get rid of it because i like the portability of it but i have bought a big shot to use in it's place on a regular basis.

just my thoughts...

I would be surprised if anyone having a CB for a while and is using it - doesn't have to use Shims. Some people have had to use shims from the day they open the box because all CB's are slightly different. I agree it is easy to just keep your Shims with your cutting plates and mat that also what I do.

I would start with some new plates first and then see if you need shims. I don't think I would attempt trying to tighten the Cuttlebug. I could see that going badly.......sorry!

Thanks so much for all of your great advice. I guess I will shimmy.
