I pride myself on knowing what I like and don't like and not feeling compelled to follow the crowd. However, I just could not resist being pulled into the trap of the Paisley Background Stamp. It's being mailed out to me today. I didn't ever think I would want that one and now I can hardly wait to get my hands on it. What will be next? Can someone please just let me know so I don't have to fight it??
Don't worry, you are not alone. I was sure that Paisley stamp was unloved and unwanted by all, so I had never ordered it. Once I saw samples...well, I just HAD to have it.
As for what's next? Who knows...but you are sure to find out here first!
It's ok, that what this site is for! To show you the merits of stamps you never looked twice at. It's all about presentation and maybe what they had in the catty just didn't speak to you. I know I would never have gotten canvas if it weren't for scs and now try to catch me stamping without it right by my side!
This site is the best for inspiration. I think that the Dirty Dozen should seriously consider coming out with a book of card samples. I know that the samples I see here spark my creativity WAY more then the SU! catalogue's examples.
I too have been SUCKED into the Paisley trap... mine will arrive on Tuesday!
My customers always laugh at me -- apparently my favorite thing to say is "I hated this set when I first saw it, but then I kept seeing cool samples made with it, and now it's one of my favorite sets!" They always quote me on this one, and I KNOW it's all you creative SCSers that I have to blame! When the new catty comes out, I've decided that I will just buy everything I hate so that I can save myself time and money... I KNOW you'll make me love it anyway!
(Oh... except for those creepy kids... apparently I DO have good taste there!)

After 11 years as a demo, guess I'm not so"new" anymore!
(Oh... except for those creepy kids... apparently I DO have good taste there!)
   I just bought those creepy kids, I also said I would never get that set..... but I did! I shocked myself! The Children of the Corn can be made to be cute!
Hmmmm, a paisley lemming...I bet that's something that hasn't been stamped before...Canvas BG is on my list for April as a definite, it is my hostess month in my 10 4 10 club (and for all the things I have picked out, it looks like I should try to have an $8000 show  ). Between the two of those stamps and all my other fun stuff I should have fun playing. I knew I bought that foam brayer for a good reason...
And, I do have to say, Children of the Corn is a good description for those kids. ------shudder------- However, never say never, right?
Sorry to hijack this thread, but what is the creepy kid stamp set you're talking about??
P.S. Don't have the paisley stamp yet, but you gals are making me think twice about it...I'm addicted to Canvas BG right now!
Kristen the creepy children set is "Charming Children", I'll see if I can find the thread about them being nicknamed Children of the Corn..... I think Britta started calling them that :?
I think SCS is secretly funded by SU and Daven and Tracy and the whole DD team are really marketing geniuses trying to sway public opinion! Well, they are doing a really good job!

I don't think I ever gave this BG stamp a second glance. It wasn't even a consideration until I started seeing samples of it on this site, especially the sympathy card I saw yesterday (sorry, I forget who made it - it was gorgeous). Now I WANT IT! I'll be ordering it soon...
I loved the Paisley background stamp the first time I saw it. It was in my first order from the new catalog. Can't understand why it took others so long to see its potential. :?
