Question How much time do you spend stampin'?

Just curious how much time everyone spends actually stamping....just curious because it seeems like lately I mainly collect supplies that I hope I will eventually use someday....it seems that whenever I am in the mood to stamp/scrap my 1 month old has other ideas....

I repainted and organized a big room just for my craft stuff last summer, I have shelves, file cabinets, a table covered with butcher paper, everything you can imagine. I thought I would stamp ALL the time, but I hardly ever do! I just buy more stuff, make it all organized and then not do anything! It's so frustrating!

Huh? We're supposed to stamp with the stuff we collect? LOL! Yeah, don't get too much time stamping with a 2 1/2 yr old and a 3 month old. 2 YO wants to play with the goods and when hubby is home, I feel I have to spend time with him. Normally I stamp on the weekends when DH can take 2 YO off my hands. So 30 minutes here and there during the week and a few hours on the weekend. I spend more time on SCS because I can nurse and read at the same time.

Ditto on the reorganizing. I never quite get all of my supplies in the most accessible places, thus I create a huge mess in the creative process and am always trying to find a better solution.

I don't enough time stamping. Maybe an hour a week, if that.

I'm like most...organizing...cataloging...shopping for new supplies...mounting stamps, etc. but rarely do I have the time I want to sit down and create a card or project.

I'm probably one of those that qualifies more as a collector than a stamper.

I'm definitely more of a collector -- especially lately. I have 0 creativity, but my organizing skills are great! LOL

I spend about 2 hours a week -- all on the weekends, unless I have a card I HAVE to make.

Not enough!

Some weeks I spend hours and hours stamping. Working on it at night after work and on the weekends. This is usually when I have some sort of project going. And, I don't have kids, so that gives me *more* free time. I say *more* as I have a very demanding job and work really long hours (like having a kid or two). Other weeks, I don't even look at it. It just goes in phases for me.

I'm looking forward to having my little one start her pre-school program. I'll have about 2 hours to play with 2 days outof the week. Now, I've also designated a couple of days out of the week where "housecleaning" goes to the bottom of the list. On those days, I allow myself to play for at least 1 hour. I know, I know that is not enough time, but I cut materials first and then the next day I stamp.

Time flies when you're having fun!!

Usually 2 of my kidlets are napping in the afternoon, my oldest is outside and my other daughter plays while I stamp my afternoon away! So, may a couple hours in the afternoon and some in the evening if my dh is out.

Two to three hours a week. I spend more time on SCS looking for ideas, but then I get so many ideas, I don't know where to start....sigh.

Lately it's just been on the weekends - have to work to pay for the supplies I collect. We are currently trying to sell our home so all my stamp stuff is creatively stored in the basement next to my office. I can't stamp unless I pull out just about all of my stuff, so it is a pain (especially the clean-up afterward). SOMEONE BUY MY HOUSE SO I CAN STAMP AGAIN!!!! LOL

Wow, we have our own support group going here! I though I was the only one who collected, organized, moved around....but never stamped!!! I envy those of you who can spend 1-3 hours a day stamping. I'm one of those surfing splitcoast instead of stamping..........gotta find a balance!!

Send me some inspiration!

Hmmmm it varys a lot. Right now, none, I am in the process of tidying and reorganizing, I have a mess and can't quite work in a mess, hopefully I will get the reorganizing done and be able to stamp soon. My next card swap isn't till August I could possibly go that long, yikes!

My stamping time varies quite a bit! I usually spend about an hour a day stamping. Now, this is not a straight hour ... it's usually 10 minutes here ... 15 minutes there ... whenever the kids are quiet and cooperative. Some days I don't get any stamping done and some days I get quite a bit.

And it's funny because sometimes I can crank out 4 cards in an hour ... and then other times the hour goes by and I'm still putterin' on the same card!

I'm in the collecting, organizing, SCS, group. Oh, I forgot, stamping is my hobby. I'd better start stamping more, and buying less. Eileen

Lots! I'm a retired teacher and loving every minute of it. This site really inspires. Trying to buy less and make use of what I have. I'm teaching a couple of grandchildren to stamp cards and they love it!

I can usually get at least 1-2 hours a day in but that is usually after the kids go to bed. Good thing I am a night person. DH has been trying to spend more quality time with the kids so tonight I got an extra 1 1/2 in while they played in the pool and as soon as I am done here I will go and stamp some more.

collecting, organizing, re-organizing, surfing SCS, mounting, surfing SCS.....re-organizing. What can we call this group? Do we qualifiy as a legitimate support group?
Hmmm...have to think about this.

I go in streaks. In the last three months I've made about 350 cards (albeit they were only of a few different designs for showers, thank yous, etc.)

The three months before that I was lucky if I made maybe 15...

I have been a "collector" for five years. I've stamped some things but not as much as I could have. I've finally decided that I will make it a point to avoid the Hallmark store as much as possible and stamp every card I send if it kills me! Since I put my mind to it I've done better at stamping vs. buying...

LOL at the reorganizing! As I type this my bedroom is a disaster because I started to empty out all my craft boxes and organize them. I have three kids ages 3 and under, so of course I haven't finished yet. Hmm... I should probably go do that huh?

Wow we must all be great organizers!!!!! Me too =(, wish there were more hours in the day that I could squeeze some stampin' in, but I'm sure I would find something else to do if there were more hours. This last weekend was great, spent all weekend creating, but that's few and far, far between.

I go in 'spirts'! But even if I'm not stamping, I just love being in my room watching TV and leafing through catalogs & magazines! (and doing a little organizing, too!)

lol I spend lots of time acquiring things and organizing them. And plenty of time on SCS. But I've found that being on here helps to motivate me to go stamp things. Now that school is out for the summer and I'll just be working I'll have more time. I know that sounds crazy but 19 credits of 700 lvl classes tends to eat up a lot of time both in and out of class.

I -almost- went out at lunch today to buy MORE STUFF for the VSN (I own exactly ONE punch...ahem.) but decided to just borrow my friends for the evening and not worry about where I am going to put them...and just sit down and stamp tonight! I will stamp. And there will be creations...or no soup for me!

Ok...that was horrid. :P:P:P

I work full time, but my children are grown, so it's just my DH and me at home. I usually spend about an hour each evening stamping while my husband watches TV. Often on the weekends I'm able to stamp for 3-4 hours on Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Like many of you, I spend lots of time on SCS that I could spend stamping! But it's so FUN here!! And isn't that what this is really all about - hobby - fun??!!

Well, I have the intentions of stamping for a few hours each evening, but I normally spend about half that time on SCS, so it normally means about 1-2 hours per night, and a couple of hours on the weekend... much more closer to craft sale time!

It seems lately I, too, have been buying more than I'm using. Unless I can get someone to stamp with I just don't stamp as much as I'd like. After the kids are in bed I'd rather spend my time with my husband, but stamping is still in the back of my mind even then! lol

I just can't get motivated to stamp at the moment. I am all stamped out, but I don't seem to be able to take a break from it because I need to make birthday cards and RAKs and it's causing a mental block.
If I spent a 10th of the time stamping that I do on here, I could open a shop!
