Default How much money have you saved

Have you thought about how much money you have saved by coming to this site. I use to buy many magazines and I feel I don't need to anymore because of the talent here.

So I joined the fan club!!!

I knew I would because I think that these people that run the site need the support fiancialy as bad as any mag company I supported.

Thanks ...............think about donating!

Actually, I've saved but not saved.

Yes, I'm no longer picking magazines off the shelf at Joann's and taking then to the checkout.

I've learned from you all what NOT to buy (too bad I didn't learn not to buy the mini sewing machine tho...)

BUT...

I've spent WAYYYY more because I saw something on SCS and wanted to make it!

I don't think I've actually "saved" a thing! Just re-spent!

Yes I see your point.
This site does make you want more and more.
But I am glad that I could help out here.
I know I would have still bought the mags and the other stuff also.

Haha, how about how much I have spent since coming here! Michael's stamps, ribbon stamps, Target $1 items, magazines, etc., all well worth it though!

Thanks all, I'm having a ball!!!

OMG, there are so many stamp sets I never would have bought if I hadn't seen the wonderful cards in the gallery! And embellishments too! I'd say I've saved about....ummm... NEGATIVE $800.

Seriously though the sharing has really given me great tips on savings for non SU stuff. Thanks to all!

Let's see. I'd never heard of Prismacolor pencils before coming here, and I sure never would have thought to buy them and do the magic pencil technique.

But...they are $150 pencils, and with all of the lovely Viking codes I get from here, they were only $40! So...did I save $90...or spend $40.

Plus, this darn site has made me want SU sets that I never desired before. Ditto with the Twinkling H2O's. I was blissfully unaware of them before coming here.

At least I have found cheaper ways of doing things, and we also learn what not to buy like Michelle said. Let's just tally how much our savings are and not bother tallying our purchases. So....I've saved a ton!! Yeah, that's it..

You should have said "How much have you NOT saved from this site!" Like you and others on here, I have saved myself the cost of magazines because I go to the gallery for everything (thanks for allowing us to CASE). I have purchased things I wouldn't have without SCS and would probably not being Stampin' Up! any more if I didn't come here!

Default How much saved

I will not pretend that coming to this site has saved me money, because I, like many here, keep my running list of things I "need", and some of the items I had never heard of before coming here to SCS. BUT, I cannot think of anywhere you could get more bang for your buck, over donating $20 or more to this site. All of my reference material money goes to SCS from now on. This site is the most awesome recommendation I have ever been given for stamping ideas and advice ( and on occasion many other topics also. I learned about the FlyLady here!) Besides all the great ideas for cards, I have had people send me patterns, joined a card sharing club for terminal kids, joined my first RAK, and am working on my first swap. There are so many opportunities to share our efforts with others and everyone seems so willing to answer questions or help in any way they can. So, although I can't say it has saved me money, I feel like joining this site has enriched my life in many ways and I just say a great big thanks to all of you who work so long and hard to keep it running and fun. I don't think that I have saved much , but like others I have spent more wisely! I would like to know more about these viking codes, I would love to get the prismacolor pencils , but can't afford the $150 . Could someone PM me about that??

I haven't saved any money, but I am buying more wisely now. I used to buy stamp sets because they looked nice, but I didn't know what I would do with them. Now I buy only stamp sets that I really know that I will use (thanks to the inspiration in the gallery).

I agree with the spending, but also agree that this site does deserve our financial support with a donation of 20 or more. I just recently donated myself and LOVE the DD gallery!

I saved 20%!!!

On a bunch of stamps I wouldn't have bought if I hadn't seen awesome things done with them.

Does that still count as saving?

I found SCS last May - I became a demo in July, right after my demo/upline got back from Convention. I really don't think I would've become a demo if it wasn't for SCS! My demo had never asked me if I was interested and was shocked when *I* asked *her*!!!

I must say that even though I've spent LOTS of $$ on stamp sets and accessories that SCS has "encouraged" me to buy, that stuff isn't money wasted, because I use that stuff. SCS shows me exactly what to do with that stuff!! I don't buy a stamp set until I check out the Gallery here. There are stamp sets that I have *not* purchased (not many, but a few) because of the lack of inspiring samples here. I figure if the SCS gals haven't created something awesome with it, I won't be able to either!

So I'm saving the 20% I get for my SU discount, but I'm spending oh, so much more on stamps that you ladies have *caused* me to buy! I think I'll start a new thread on the topic of "What has SCS made you buy most lately?" See you over there! Please reply to it!

No savings here! I've spent more than I really need and I don't have anything to show for it. I've spent the money, but I haven't made too much lately.

I was just commenting on another thread of all the things that SCS has "made" me buy. I think I'm going to have to be grounded from this site.
