How many unmounted sets do you have?
Right now I have 2 double alphabets, 3 sets of numbers and I just mounted 5 sets. I know I'm not alone because I see so many unmounted sets for sale on ebay. I have a huge order on the way so I thought I'd better finish what I have. I really hate doing the alphas. One thing I have found is that when a set is older the backing sticker is harder to peel off. So please tell me how many sets you need to mount. Make me feel better! LOL!

None - I always make sure to mount all my sets as soon as I get them for a couple of reasons.
1 - I've noticed too that over time the paper backing on the foam will get hard and stick to it so much that when I try yo peel it off all the adhesive comes w/ it!
2 - By mounting them right away I'm able to check that I got all the right stamps and there are no damaged/missing pieces of rubber. Ever since a person posted that they bought a set, went to mount it a few months later and found that she was sent the wrong images in the case (and SU couldn't do anything about it b/c the set had retired!) I ALWAYS mount all my sets right away!

Two and Counting
Two right now, but at least 6 on the way. They probably won't get done for quite a while.

One and a half, but I just got them on Friday. I tend to mount them as soon as I get them. I like to have them ready to use when I want them.

I'm in shock just from reading the title I mount my sets the same day I get them! I just can't wait to get them inky! I think the most I've had at one time is six, including one of them being an alpha set.

About 12 - I really prefer mounted stamps! I only buy unmounted when the set is just too cute to pass up! TAC has really nice stamp designs.

I have 9 right now. UGH! I have been SO busy. I normally mount them the same day I get them so I am feeling like a major slacker. I have 2 SAB sets, newsprint double alpha YUCK, expresive phrases DOUBLE YUCK, collage alpha, letterpress alpha and another alpha to mount. LOL There are a few easy ones to mount too, maybe I'll do those today.

Only 1 - I've had it for MONTHS - maybe even a year. HAD to have it, but then kinda lost my love of it. So, I may never mount it

I also mount all of my stamps the day I get them. One of my friends mounts the stamps as she uses them, so in any one set, she could have 3-4 mounted but the rest unmounted. That sort of thing drives me nuts!! I want to go over to her house and mount them all while she sleeps. (I'm crazy, I know).

None!!! But that is because I went to a stamping party Friday night. My rule for myself is I can't buy more stamps if I haven't mounted what I already have.
My rule hasn't saved me any money, but the mounting is done!

No unmounted sets here! I mount and STAMP mine right away! It's a good thing too, because when I got my Let's Party set there was a flaw in the rubber. I was able to contact my demo and get a new rubber piece sent to me free of charge! I didn't even have to pay shipping! Here's the flaw I found.

Right now, I have 3 big ones! I bought Alll Year Cheer I II & III during SAB & earned 2 SAB sets which I immediately mounted but have not had time to do these yet, but, it won't be long before they're done!!

Pretty bad flaw. You're right....it's important to mount stamps and try things immediately in case of problems. I need to remember that.

It used to be I mounted them straight away, then I ended up mounting the stamps I was using and left the rest. Time has been short for a couple of years so I do what I can. I do make the effort to mount a set if I know I'll be less likely to use it because it isn't mounted (i.e., expressive flexible phrases)
I just counted a little over 2/3 of my stamps and I have 43 to mount. Keep in mind I just got 21 sets 2 weeks ago. I probably have about another 15 to be mounted in addition to what I counted. I have 287+ sets.
Guess I should spend less time here.

**GASP** I WIN!!

I may have to adopt this rule! NOT!!
Dina, I chuckled when I read the topic of this thread! There doesn't seem to be much here to make you feel better so let me say -- I stopped counting at 25 unmounted sets! Yep, no doubt about it -- I'm a collector more than a stamper at the present time. But I have such lovely stamped scrapbook pages in my head! And, as a hobby demo, there's no rush 'til I need. However, it does stunt my creativity to have an idea but not have the stamps mounted.
For those caveats about mounting quickly, I agree the backing turns extra sticky over time, I do mount sets in full (when I get around to it -- I also seal my wood blocks, which delays the process, too), and, most importantly, I check all rubber upon receipt.
Hope you can breathe easier now knowing there's someone else drowning in unmounted sets!

I'd better go count the rest of mine! And I agree that less computer time might help the backlog!

Let's see I normally mount my sets as soon as they get here, but I think after this S.A.B. and the 17 sets that I am ordering I don't think I will do them all right away.

Yikes, I'm in a bad place because I got multiples of SAB sets. I'm not sure if i'm going to keep them, trade them or break them up and use them as door prizes. But currently I have 7 sets. Plus I just ordered 4 stamp sets for myself I haven't had the chance to mount them yet. Eeek! I better get on that.

Right now, I have 4 doublicate sets unmounted and 2 I've never used.....HOWEVER the good news is I have a 12 yr old niece who just asked me to teach her how to stamp (SIL has no interest), soooo I am gonna mount them and give them to her........WILL TAKE ANY EXTRA SETS YOU HAVE and want to get rid of to give to her........
