well...
Well... since my stuff is all in a U-Haul right now, I can't count, but I would estimate at 175 sets. Of course, there is always an ever-growing wishlist, so that number iss ubject to change at any time without notice.
Within my first year of being a demo I aquired 80 new sets. That was 3 1/2 years ago.....I don't think I should count them now. I love to collect the retired sets so I haven't sold too many of my used sets. I became a demo the year they retired "Stella Stamper". I love her little sayings that are in the set.....especially "It started out with just one stamp, which let to two, then three! Now I'm a stampaholic and don't want recovery!!!
I have about 275 sets and accessories to last forever. My hubby just shakes his head and my best friend (not a stamper) says I need therapy! At least my hubby, though, is supportive of my habit (only 'cause he has his own "habits" and can't say a thing.....hee hee!)

I only have 31 and I have been doing this less than a year. My husband is already giving me a hard time. How am I going to deal with him when I get over 100 like you guys have. :?
I have been in for a year now and I have 85 sets! I plan to update this soon with the SAB coming.
I would have more if SU didn't have such cool punches, paper, need I say more???
hmmm I only have 27 current sets and 22 retired ones :( Guess I need to buy more??? Actually I just sold some of my retired ones that I no longer used. My thoughts are if they sit there for over a year and don't get touched I won't miss them!!
At last count, which was some time ago and before the most recent sprees, I had 300+. Whatcan I say, I am addicted! Luckily, my DH is very understanding about my habit!

Hi, this is my first post. I have been lurking for the past few months. You gals amaze me, over 200 sets of stamps, what am I getting myself into? I started out about a year ago and now have less than 20 sets but also many loose ones and much paper and misc. supplies. I am going to sign up as a demo in Jan. and I suspect my collection will grow dramatically. This seemed so innocent in the beginning, lol. Love this site
I have only been stamping since July of last year - and at last count I had 85 since then I have added at least another 10 so I would have to say 95 plus about 18 wheels!
I will be packing mine up this next week so I am sure my dh will have something to say about it!!

OK...I'm on my way..I have 23! LOL...hey I started in October. Not bad...just wait till I get rolling during SAB! ( I just ordered a bunch of wheels since I only have the one that came in my starter kit).
Just curious...Is there a time when you can part with retired stamp sets? Or do you just keep storing them in hopes of using them again. Or actually, still keep using them? I can see myself always going back to use retired sets. Oh this is way too addicting.

I have been stamping for 10 years and a demo for 3, I am not going to count as I think I would fall on the floor myself, lol I do know it is in the hundreds, yikes!
as for you newer stampers, someone should have warned you, yes it starts with a set or two, next thing you know you having children share rooms to make room for stamping, lol

I just counted, and I have 55 sets, including my 10 retired sets. I got very lucky when the new catty came out this year. I try to be very selective about my stamps because I'm all about the accessories. Gotta have money for cardstock and eyelets and EP and all the fun stuff.
Some of you ladies are sooo funny! I do not feel bad at all now with having over 140. I guess my hubby thinks it is a lot because I have been a demo for 1 1/2 years and just really started buying stamp sets about a year ago. I was more into the cardstock and accessories Stampin Up offers. I didn't know how to do anything with stamps. But once I learned......I haven't stopped buying stamps! It sounds like many of us could use a different kind of support group. Maybe Stampaholic Annonymous. "Hello my name is Robin and I am addicted to stamping." Then we could at least tell our husbands we are seeking help!
...or perhaps I don't really WANT to know how many stamp sets I have! I have an entire room dedicated to only stamping/crafts. I have 3 large wheeled iris carts and 4 large baskets with lids (that I can stack) full of only SU stamp sets. I also have an ever growing set of unmounted stamps - non-SU (GASP!). I was a SU hobby demo for 2 years, and recently resigned to just play with my stamps again. I'm guessing I have over 250 SU sets.
I hang onto my absolutely favorite retired sets and never sell those (i.e., Oriental Gardens and other retired Asian sets), but I did recently sell off at least 30 retired sets that I didn't use anymore.
I made a promise to myself before I became a demo that my hobby would never adversely impact my family finances. That promise helped me a great deal. I never buy sets that I do not have the cash to pay for. It is probably the biggest reason I work full time - to pay for my stamping hobby! It is truly a form of relaxation for me. Now if only it burned more calories!! LOL
All my best,
Nancy

I have 41 sets, 3 ordered and 2 drawers full of non-SU stamps. I am not a demo. This next year I will start looking at wheels, as I have none, yet. If I were a demo, I think I'd have to have them ALL, too. I have tons of paper and accessories.
I just counted and I have 60 sets and a lot of nonSU sets. I'm going to convert a couple of my retired sets to the unmounted system and hide in CD cases, then I can just pretend I have a lot of music in my craft room (007 would be proud)lol!!!
I'm sure I'll be adding at least 5 sets to my inventory during sab.
I became an SU Demo in August of '03, and since then I have built my collection to include 120+ stamp sets. Of course, ALL of these are absolute necessities.
I won't count, as my husband constantly asks "Do you ever think you will have enough?" I always reply with "Define enough" smile sweetly and walk away.
I never thought I would enjoy this so much, but give me time and my little craft corner and it is better than "Calgon take me away"

Tell you're husband that you are not the only one. There are a lot of us who are in the same boat. I keep my SU stamps on bookshelves in my stamp room. I have two bookshelves that are probably 7 feet high & 3 feet wide that are full--probably 300+ sets (not to count accessories & non-SU stamps). Before I got married, my sister told me that I should not show anyone I'm dating my stamp collection until I had a ring on my finger. I think my husband saw it before we got engaged and he married me anyway--he didn't see everything in my closet, under the bed, etc.
When we bought our house, I didn't even ask him to help move my stamping & scrapbooking stuff, I thought it would be better if I just did it so he wouldn't freak out as to how much stuff I have. Once I moved everything into my stamp room, he was suprised & said that he thought the room was a lot bigger before I had everything in there and that he thought he'd have room to have a desk in there--Yea right.
I have one bedroom dedicated to nothing but stamping. I have a 4 foot wide book case with 5 shelves dedicated to nothing but SU Stamp sets. I started stamping in 1998. I separate them by topic. and I even have Stamp sets on top of the book case. I have all of the background, fill in, and phrases in a three drawer plastic bin near my stamp table.
I also have 2-7 drawer and 1 9 drawer plastic stands dedicated to non SU stamps.
I have 6 plastic bins of various papers. One of them is totally SU. I have more 4 drawers of ribbon. One is mostly, but not all SU. I have 5 other storage drawer thingies of stamping accessories, ink refill, glitter, etc.
You really could take the family to Europe after a garage sale. :P
Wow I keep telling my DH I need more sets ans well I changed my mind!!! I need a lot more sets I think I have 31 and have been a demo since march......I better get buying...if only this SAHM got paid for all her work! Hee Hee!!!! MY SU sales are just not enough to pay for everything I "NEED"
I don't count, that way if DH grills me about it I can honestly say "I don't know ...". I have a ton of SU sets and tons of loose stamps by other mfrs. Reading this thread makes me feel better, I'm not alone!! I guess that's why they say we are our own best customer ...
I really don't know. I stopped counting when I hit 50 sets about a year ago (I freaked out that I had that many). I know I have many more sets than that now. I would be very afraid to count them now.
As of last night I had 59 sets of stamps. I just placed an order so 2 more sets are on the way. I started stamping a year ago so I believe in 9 more years I will have at least 600 sets, right?
