I have about 100 and I just keep adding more. Every time I look at the catalog I see more sets that I just have to have. Thankfully Christmas is coming up and I can ask for more of the stuff I want.

I have 29 SU but I just started stamping in March. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do. Good thing my birthday is on Monday because my DH said to go ahead and order some things out of the book. YEAH!!!

WELL - I've made my peace so to speak with the current catty (got all the ones I thought I needed), but have to keep ordering sets I "didn't need" because I see so many AWESOME samples on this site! Which is why I keep ordering those flower sets I really don't need!

YIKES - I didn't think of my wheels! Better dust them off and count them! I think I need a recount, too, to be sure on my numbers - this topic really has me curious! But I'm too freaked out about it to be figuring out the cost, LOL!

Default Number of Stamps

I just finished organizing my stamps and have 112 SU stamp sets. I always mount them immediately. I have used all of my stamp sets, but I do have favorites that become work horses. I, too, as many of you, have grappled with the problem of not knowing what I had so I addressed that issue this week by stamping each set on a 6x6 sheet brag book page. I will need three brag books to adequately put them all since I also have a large number of non-SU stamps. I'm putting them in the albums sorted more or less by category (i.e., Holiday, Flowers, Background, etc.) and then have the Table of contents which I devised from the same document I used to prepare the labels for the sample sheets. It's in Alpha order and I may cross-reference by category and add the page numbers at the last. It's a bit of work, but it has already made a big difference for me because I feel in touch with what I have which helps me when I'm on a designing binge. Oh I forgot: 32 wheels and 16 large wheels (some not SU).

I like your organization idea. I was going to do that but wasn't if I wanted to build them all in a binder or what...

I get to the point that if I don't use the set within a year after they retire, I sell them or trade them. I am sure that after I become a demo my stamps sets will increase substantially, but till then I am content with what I have. But for now my 50 sets is enough for what I can spend right now. Living on one income is tough sometimes, but being a SAHM is the best!!

I bought my very first SU! set (and first stamps ever) in March, I now have 69 sets in my craft room and 5 in the mail. Compared to the 100's I'm seeing on here, I don't feel so guilty now.

I think I have about 115 SU sets, and about a dozen wheels. It has taken me about 4 years to gather this many sets. I also have several hundred non SU single stamps, which I started collecting about 5 years ago. Someday I plan on pulling out one set at a time and making as many cards as I can with each set . Someday !

Can I just HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sitting here reading all the replys with my mouth wide open - more like shock but also just pure AWE!!! Ok, I've been a demo for just over a year - like a year and two months and I have maybe 25 sets - if that many. What's really sad is I don't feel the need for many more - I can't imagine having to go through 100 sets to find what I'm looking for. I would feel bad for buying a set and not using it. However, I'm sure some of my sets would love the break. I go through periods where I find a set and just work it to death. Currently, it's my Wonderful Words set.

I'm going to have hubby read this thread so I can say "SEE! I'M NOT THAT BAD!" [/b]

Okay, I really only have 113, but I wanted to see if I could make anyone spit their Dr. Pepper on their screens. Delete this post from your computer, show your family members my last one, and say "See? She has MUCH more than I do!"

I have under 50 - I'm not counting yet. But my husband and non-stamping friends come over and see my 'collection' in my stamp cabinet and they shake their heads and say, "You have so many stamps!". Well, I'm going to print out this thread and tape it to my cabinet door. AND, I've been a demo for almost 2 years. I don't have any that are retired, though. If I can't demo it, I don't own it. Hmmmm, what does that say about me?

Well, not counting my SAB and hostess duplicates, I have 162 SU stamps sets, I became a demo 1 1/2 years ago and considering I became a demo without ever attending a workshop or even knowing what SU was I've made a good dent in the catalog! You'd think I had time to stamp 24/7, but I don't and when I do I will have just the stamp I'm looking for!!

Well I thought I had a lot (for stamping for 8 years) but I only have 82 plus about 5 background stamps. There's a few that have been retired and that I'd like to sell so I can buy more. Boy I feel like I have to have more. I guess that is a normal feeling for stampaholics.

I had to jump on the band wagon. I went upstairs and counted there are 85 sets on my shelf , 5 or 6 in a basket and about 10 sets scattered over my desk. So give or take 100+ sets. Then I've got a carton of singles from all over.

But I'm not going to stop.... You can't make me stop. I have to have them all. All I say. "my precious, I gots to have my precious"

Cheers,

I only have 9 sets. Obviously not a demo. It was bad enough when I unpacked the first dozen stamp pads. DH is surprised I'm on a buying spree for the first time in 18 years of marriage.

I had to go count. I have:
72 current
5 mini catty or special sets
46 retired

That doesn't include my 4 personalized, statement of the heart, wheels or incentive sets. It also doesn't include the non-SU! stamps. Do you think I have a problem? Me neither!

Suzanne

PS. I've only been a demo for 1 year & had only 4 or 5 sets before I became a demo.

I have 231 sets. When the new catalog came out I had 163 sets retired and only 56 in the catalog... I've been buying! I'm a demo but have been only doing the min. for the past year or two, hopefully can get back into it full time now.

I figure people spend more than this at the bar or casinos, so this is my "vice" and I don't get a DWI! (I have not tried stampin' and driving!)

We have 150+ current sets, but almost half of them I got for free by being a demo....I started two years ago and love it more than ever!! Besides, they're a great investment.......I can always sell them (if I ever would!)

Default stamps?

I am honestly scared to count. I am not a demo and I really have a problem because I buy stamp sets all the time. I do not want to think about the money I have spent and I HAve only been collecting them since January of this year! I have stamps sets and wheels.

I have run out of room in my closet, and 2 rolling carts are full! Do you think I have a problem???
