Default How the heck do you cut chipboard?

I have some big 12x12 sheets of heavy chipboard. My Tonic guillotine cutter won't cut it. My X-Acto knife won't cut it. My Kai scissors struggle through it with great reluctance. Do I need to bite the bullet and buy a die cutter (which I so cannot afford right now)? Should I dig through my sweetie's toolbox for a box cutter? Are there other options out there?

If there's another brand/type of chipboard that cuts a little more easily, I would love to know about it.

Thank you so much for your help!

I use a box cutter and a metal ruler on a cutting mat for straight cuts. For shapes I run it through the Cuttlebug.

Here's a link. Forget the title or the other scissors, just look at the second pair from the top. They are slightly slanted and look identical to the pair I bought a few months ago at the DOLLAR store for..you guessed it... a dollar!!! The thing is they are usually in the tool sections of dollar stores, Big Lots or Wally's and they cut through chipboard, cardboard, plastic and even thin sheet metal like a dream.

Hope you find some!

I had as well big boards of heavy chipboard, 13x19. I cut it with utility knife, it took some effort, several times running with the knife through one cut. But it did cut it.

I decided chipboard is vastly overrated and too much trouble to work with.

I have purchased a few pre-cut embellishments, but other than that, I don't use it anymore.

I make a lot of books with it. I use it for the covers so it is straight cuts. The Purple Cow cutter cuts chipboard I believe.

I've heard you can use cereal boxes for chipboard and it goes through the cuttlebug and Sizzex. Use what you have as covers for albumns.

You can cut it with a Cricut but it requires a special blade and housing unit.

I use Tim Holtz's Grunge Board and it is a breeze to cut with a knife.
