Smile How do YOU get started?

I'm just curious how other stampers create their cards...

Do you choose your stamps first , then choose your colors of paper and ink? Is your card already planned out in your mind or do you build it as you go not having a clue what you will do next? Do you create your card with certain accessories in mind already or do you choose your accessories last?

As for me, I create it as I go usually only knowing what colors I'd like to work with.

When I'm working with my stash of scrapbook paper (and I have a lot!), I usually pull colors of cardstock that will work with my paper. I also sometimes look online or in a magazine for a card sketch. Sometimes I just outright CASE, but I usually end up putting my own twist on the card. Other times, I just pull out a lonely stamp set that I haven't had time to stamp with and force myself to make some cards.

I usually start with a stamp set then pull out my color wheel for some idea. My table is usually covered with this and that by the time I finish!

When I have stampers-block, I go into my faves folder here on SCS and either CASE something or use it as inspiration. I also try to use sets that I haven't used in a while or something that will go for a particular occassion.

For me it depends on the occassion of the needed card......weather it be...boy/girl or what event???
Probably then I would go with stamp set.....then colors......in my head......and normally I just let it flow from there..........

Sometimes I just start stamping.......and it leads to some very creative ideas......and some flops!! LOL

I almost always start with an "inspiration" card from a magazine or usually the gallery here. Then I choose colors and individualize it by adding my own tweaks of certain embellishments or techniques or other elements that I especially like. Sometimes by the end it is far from the original inspiration, and other times it is a closer CASE. But I almost always need something visual before me to get the creative juices flowing.

I usually start with stamps I want to use and/or a technique I want to try. I love to use multi-color fibers so I often get my color combo from the fiber. Then I do the technique and get stamping from there.
