Yes, I'm one that leaves the inside blank. I'm not good with short sentiments so that works for me.

When my sister turned 40 some years ago, I gifted her 40 handmade cards. After about the 5th one came back to me or my immediate family, I started to regret this decision. Afterall, we'd all seen them already, and it was a bit of a letdown....

This made me laugh! I get how that might feel. But...

Maybe she thought she was giving you the ultimate compliment - that your cards were so much nicer than anything she could buy! !

Hopefully, you would feel complimented by receiving the card back . You liked it when you designed it for her so now you got it back to send it on to some one else(not a family member) and who knows- you might get it back again from the new person who also thought it was awesome.

I consider it a compliment when someone sends me back a card I've made.

I made a set of fancy notecards for a very dear daughter-in-law. She sent me a thank you on one of them and wrote: "I wanted you to see how wonderful it is to get one of your cards in the mail."

a lot of my stamp sets have a tiny little accent stamp so that gets put in the corner. I tend to use darker card stock for the base so its always lined with this semi cheap( read: thin) card stock that i picked up at some garage sale. my one offs tend to have the sentiment I am going for on the front, so the inside has more room to write a novel to the recipient. If I am stocking up, I tend be very generic( masculine, feminine, fun) and then can add an appropriate sentiment on the inside as needed.
