I saw a tag in the current catalog on page 61. How do you crimp just part of the edge and not ruin the paper part of the tag itself? I tried to do this with a tag and it did not come out right at all! Could it be that I don't have the right crimper? I don't remember the brand, but I do know it is not the one from SU!
Are there any other tips and techniques for the tags?
The SU! crimper is Fiskars. It has a wide opening, and allows you to place whatever you are crimping in as far as you want, and then you squeeze it closed and crimp.
You can also crimp in the middle of a piece of cardstock this way, too. (page 116 shows this for the Kids Cards set)
tried to do this with the SU crimper and it didn't work on the tags. I just get a little bit of a wave, hardlly leaves a mark at all. Any suggestions???

It looks like they removed the paper inside the metal tag, crimped the metal part, and replaced the paper within with their own confetti white card stock stamped and colored in with the tree.
Also, the tags are easier to crimp without the paper inside. To remove the bit of card stock, cut out the main part of the CS with an exacto knife or razor blade then pull out the remaining CS with needle nose pliers. It takes a bit of work, but the metal is aluminum and very pliable.
Hope this helps!

Teresa- If you really wanted to put it back in, I guess you could very gently pry the tag open and slip it in... but, Wow, that'd be hard. I think they just stick it on the back of the tag. You could prolly use crystal effects or Goop (an industrial adhevsive found in most hardware stores). Lemme know how your crimpin goes!
alasku2stamp- Thanks! I wish he looked like that All The Time! Lol!
