Default How do I pick a demonstrator???

MY local demonstrator is going to stop selling Stampin Up in my area. I did a search for demonstrators on the Stampin Up website. I got four names to pick from. How do I go about picking one? Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

Here are some things you might consider asking about:

Do they do stamp camps or classes? If so, what is the format and what is the cost?

How do they run their workshops? Are there make-n-takes? Is it toally hands on?

Are there handouts available to help you? Inspiration sheets? Templates?

Do they have a newsletter? If so, look at past copies to see if the information is helpful to you. Does it include tips and techniques?

How will you find out about SU! promotions? Mail? Email? Phone call?

I did this too! I emailed all 4 demos it listed. One never emailed back, one did but didn't have any events going on, one did but didn't have any events for 2 mos, and the last did and had a lot of stuff and mailed me a postcard of her events. I ended up meeting her and 3 mos later I signed up to demo under her! I'd just email them all and see what comes from it!

You might want to also look at their SU! website and look at the samples they've made, to see if you like their style. I totally agree with Chris's ideas to ask prospective demos. Good Luck!

I agree w/both Chris and Emily -
Email/contact all of them and see which one will meet your needs the best.

One more thing to add...
Ask your current demo if she knows any other demos in your area. Someone from her group may be nearby and probably has a fairly similar style.

[You might want to also look at their SU! website and look at the samples they've made, to see if you like their style.]

Be aware that SU! changed its policy a couple of months ago, and now allows demos to post samples from the SU! website in the art galleries of our own websites. The samples may or may not have been done by that demo. If you care about that, be sure to ask her.

The demo may not have an SU! website, but that doesn't mean you should disqualify her as a potential demonstrator. I for one, don't think SU! gives enough for your $ to bother with having one of their sites.
