Hello . . . My name is Wenchie . . . . and I have an addiction . . . . *sigh* . . . I choose to not seek help to overcome this addiction . . . . in fact I continuously seek to feed this addiction . . . . I am addicted to paper crafts and card making in particular.

So . . . got the levity out of the way . . . on to business . . .
I have already posted a brief intro over on the Start Here board. At least I think that's what it was called.
OMG there is so much here!!
I have to admit, I have been visiting this site for quite some time. I found it to be a great resource for inspiration and have recommended it as such more times than I can count. I'm still in complete awe of the talent in here!! I want to try everything I see!! LOL I need more hours in the day.
So, maybe you're wondering why I never joined? For no good reason really except that the sheer size and magnitude of this site was intimidating and just plain overwhelming.
Now, I'm not usually one to shy away from really big things, so I decided to bite the bullet and try to wiggle my way in here LOL
I've yet to really get into stamping, but I've tried just about everything else.
I've now mustered up some real excitement about becoming involved here. I'm terrified I'm going to post in the wrong category, but I'm sure someone will be kind enough to straighten me out.
Well . . . I'm off to explore and discover all the great things this place has to offer.

My best hint is to look at the Challenge Forums. It's a blast! I have no aspirations of becoming as great at this as many of the other stampers. But I have a lot of fun trying out ideas and copying designs.
Welcome, Wenchie! I'm Michelle, and as far as I can tell, everyone here pretty much shares your addiction. My monthly stamping budget has increased many times over since I started stamping. I spent three lonely months not knowing the beauty of SCS, then about 9 months ago, I found it and I've really gone crazy ever since!
There IS a lot of info to gather here, as well as there are tons of wonderful people to get to know! That is why you have to spend hours upon hours surfing SCS! LOL!
Welcome! I've only been stamping since July and on here since Sept. I think, and I now have a full stamping room, I'm a SU demo, and I had a dream last week that I fought a lady over an OTT light on sale at Michael's! LOL
Welcome Wenchie! I believe we ALL share your addiction and your desire NOT to do anything about it other than FEED it! Otherwise, why would we be here?! So much to see and explore, but just take it "one thread at a time". (lame reference to an AA motto)...lol
Welcome Wenchie, from another Winnipeger! I actually live outside of Winnipeg, but I work in Winnipeg, so I'm in the city every day (except weekends). You will LOVE this site, it is such a great place for inspiration and so much more ... glad to have you!

I have a small problem though . . . . . There is so much to see here that I could easily burn away hours upon hours just looking around!! Am I at risk of stopping crafting just to keep up in here? LOL Lord I hope not!
Tandra . . . thanks! I kind of like the name too, although it's not one I would have picked out for myself. Someone else came up with it years ago and it's just kind of stuck. People don't even use my real name anymore LOL
Deb . . . I also don't live in the city. I'm just outside in Birds Hill but work in the city. Have you been to Scrapbooking by Design on Pembina? OMG they have 2 sided paper there!! I had all but given up on finding any of that here! The lady who owns the store is just fabulous! She spent an hour showing us new techniques and ideas! I'll definately be going back.
Ruth . . . thank you so much for your comments. I love trying out new things. My latest project is the mini scrapbook. I'm at a bit of a stall right now as I can't decide what I want to do it. I think it's time to go gallery browsing for inspiration!
So, I set off on a mission this morning to buy stamps on ebay. Well, holy moly!! The stamps themselves are cheap enough but the postage will kill ya!! I'm going to have to find somewhere else. Maybe someone has some ideas?

Yes, the size of this board can be a bit intimidating if you really want to get to know people on an individual basis. But I find that it is an excellent resource for all things stamping- there is always somebody who has been there, or tried that, and is willing to share their knowledge.
I checked out your photobucket photos- wonderful iris folding cards. That's one technique that seems to intimidating to try. Welcome to SCS.

Oh, it really is very simple. I did a lot of it early on. The only thing I found was that I can't be talking to anyone while doing iris folding or I'd get all messed up LOL

Welcome here, Wenchie!!! Watch out, you may not get off for very long for say, 3 1/2 years, LOL! I am even overwhelmed at times myself, so just pick a few places to look at (the challenges are a terrific place to start) and set a timer and stick to it! Good luck!
