Default Help - Probs with my Janome Sew Mini Sewing Machine

Hi Girls

Do any of you have any ideas why, all of a sudden, having hardly used my Janome Sew Mini, even though I have had it for couple years, it has decided it does not want to sew forwards anymore, and when I do get it to go forwards, having pressed the reverse switch!!!! it doesn't actually lay any stitches down just the holes!!!! what is going on????

Did you rethread it and check the bobbin to make sure it is also threaded correctly??? I would suggest if you never had it serviced by a Sewing machine repair or sewing place to do so they should be at least oiled every so often and serviced at least every year or so - I have had one for about 2 years and have only used it for about 3 hours...having 4 other bigger machines- I never even think to pull it out! Good Luck.......

Thanks Margaret, I have had the whole lot out, I even took it to pieces with my little screwdriver set (I knew one day that thing would come in handy lol) but nope, nothing is standing out, and the reverse button is still in the correct position, so I have no idea, to the point where I have just dumped it in my kitchen and popped online, found an awesome deal for another one, at nearly half the price that I paid for this one two years ago and bought myself another one!!!!

How typical though, I finally decide to start to use the thing, and it doesn't work!!!! arrhhhhh lol

Mine was a lemon. Worked for about a day, then it started skipping stitches and knotting up the back. I brought it back to the store, they couldn't get it running, but wouldn't it take it back or replace it. I had to send it to Janome on my dime AND pay for return shipping. When I finally got it back, it worked for about five minutes, then did the same thing again. At that point, I just put it out with a "free" sign and someone took it.

I would never buy a Janome machine again. Their customer service would have been laughable if I hadn't paid full retail for it and paid shipping twice for their lack of a repair.

*Note: I would have thought "user error", but my friend who is an accomplished seamstress and quilter couldn't get the thing to work either.
