HELP: ink & cardstock issue
OK....It isnt me! Everytime I stamp onto SU whisper white cardstock it smudges and smears! ESPECIALLY when I use SU Basic Black dye ink. Isnt is suppose to be IDEAL when you use this combo together????
I let it sit a few minutes, and it still smears like crazy when I try to use it. I dont have time to sit around for hours while DYE INK drys and I've tried this on several different occasions in different atmospheres.
so, does anyone else have this problem & what can I do to stop it????
About 2 years ago, there was, IMHO, a bad batch of whisper white. Everything I used on it smeared. I set it aside and only used it for bases. To be honest, I haven't bought it since.
I haven't heard of any issues since then. It is possible that you got a bad batch. You should call your demo and have it replaced. I think there is a 90 day limit on returns, but SU is excellent at sending replacements for products that are defective.

also, I'm a SU! demo...sorta sucked when I was demonstrating a technique and trying to "sell" the cardstock but then it smeared and ruined darn near everyone's cards!
But...I had it happen at a stamp camp I was holding once...it is so not nice...I am sure I got a bit red faced over it.......live and learn...now I only use Papertrey.

They know about it, it has been an issue off and on for awhile now. But call them anyways. It never hurts, and they may think that with the time that has passed, that the problem is solved. I mainly use stazon with the whisper white, but the few times I have used the classic black, I haven't had any trouble, or at least on such a big scale. I actually just used some at my last stamp camp and it was fine, but I used the stazon. My biggest issue is that the white is so thin and doesn't work well for using it as a base anymore.
If you like the PTI white, you can get a bright white 110lb paper at Staples for $14.99 for 250 sheets- much better than the $12 for 100 at PTI- and no shipping if you have a Staples nearby. OfficeMax, Office Depot, etc, probably also have it. HTH
I do not have SU basic black. I threw it away years ago.
It just did not work properly. Never stopped to figure out why. If it doesn't do the job time after time - ditch it.
PTI is a wonderful CS. Wal-Mart has a 110# as well. Georgia Pacific I think.

hmm...maybe it's the SU! BB ink? I've been using the whisper white out of many different packs so if it's a "bad batch" then It's been going on for a long while and it's going FAR! KWIM?
