Default Help with ideas on this card

A friend of mine showed me this link for a card that she really likes - to see what I could come up with as far as making them ourselves. Right now I need help on how to make the actual card shape - the rest can be done on computer or with a stamp or something. Anyway, I KNOW that there has to be a way to do it, but my preggo brain is coming up empty and I figured I would ask all of you super creative people here at SCS for some help! TIA

My first thought on looking at the card is either one of the label nestabilities sets or the top note die from SU...how to actually do it to get that effect with one...I haven't actually experimented with...may have to try that today, although I think I remember seeing something here on SCS about...off to go search because now I want to know.

It would be possible with the large nestability with that shape (can't remember which one). Anyway, you can stick one end of cardstock through the inside of the die to cut just the end in that shape. Look for spellbinders how to videos on YouTube, there is one that shows how this is done.

I also have seen some instructions here or some place else. I think that you fold the cardstock in half, could be wrong though.

Okay found the post I was thinking of...
Forums at Splitcoaststampers
it has several links on using the tan mat with nesties to get only a partial cut...have no idea how it would work with the top note die though.

I've done something similar to this just folding my paper in half and tracing around a BasicGrey chipboard album cover and cutting it out. Probably a little time consuming if you have many cards to make but easy if it's just one.

That's the last card I posted on my blog eons ago.my blog

Hmm...thanks for all the ideas! I knew there would be a way to do it! Now I guess that means a nestie purchase is in order! Anyone know if you can do this kind of thing with the top note die from SU!?
