Default Help! I don't know what to charge!

I've been making cards (multi layer, ribbon, etc) and wanted to sell them... Any suggestions on what I should charge? I know at Hallmark you can easily pay $5.95 for cards that are mass produced... any thoughts about what handmade cards should cost? Anyone out there sell? Any suggestions?

If the boutique is a "brick and mortor" store, you can't sell cards made with your SU stamps there, it's in the Angel Policy.

I thought it was ok as long as they're stamped copyright... well, at any rate, I should have probably been more clear, it's a boutique at a local swap meet Thanks for letting me know though!

Swap meets, craft fairs, those are all okay to sell at. You just can't sell at any permanent location. I would sell your cards for about $3 depending on where you live.

You may sell your craftworks at community fundraisers, seasonal boutiques or bazaars, or other temporary craft events. However, the Stampin’ Up! name, trademarks, or logos cannot be used at any location where personal hand-stamped items are sold, nor may they be used in any manner to solicit sales of such items. Hand-stamped items cannot be sold in any permanent retail location (any location that conducts business in a store, consignment shop, kiosk, mall, or Internet site), nor may they be sold to other vendors for resale purposes, nor may they be sold at Stampin’ Up!–demonstrator-sponsored events such as workshops, stamp camps, open houses, etc.

That's an excerp from the Angel Policy.

We discussed this a little while ago. Here's a link:

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...ic.php?t=10258

Bottom line, you probably can't do it if the boutique is in any way a permanent thing. If it's a one-time craft sale, it's OK. Anything permanent is not. (SU! considers internet sales to be at a permanent location, so their definitions are very conservative.

It is good to know for future use! This is for a swap meet though (not permanent), any ideas on what I could charge?

When I sell my cards I charge $3.00 each or 2 for $10... I struggled a long time with the price issue and this just feels right to me and I have no trouble selling at this price..

Of course if you make extra spectacular cards make sure you up the bounty a little bit

Hope that helps!

Thank you! That gives me a pretty good idea. I'll charge somewhere around $3-$4 (if I charge any less per card it wouldn't be worth my time. I use pearl ex, heat emboss, ribbons, layers, shaker boxes etc.)
