Default HELP! Getting together 800 Valentine cards for Troops

A demo friend was approached by a customer who wants to get 800 Valentine Cards made to mail to Iraq for the troops to send back to their loved ones! We think this is a great idea. We are planning a class/workshop and inviting our customers to come. For a small fee to help defray the cost of the cardstock, each customer will make 5 Valentine Cards, keeping one for themselves and the other 4 to go to Iraq. We were hoping that some of you may have some extra Valentine Cards made or are making that you would like to donate to the cause. We have to have them in the mail to Iraq by January 8th, in order for them to get to the troops and then mailed back to their loved ones!

If you do, please mail to:

Valentines for Soldiers
1412 Saulter Road
Homewood, AL 35209

Also, if you have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

That is such a sweet idea!!

I will get to work on a bunch this week and will send to you once done. Should we include a stamp to help with postage??

I was just going through my card basket, and I have several leftover cards that I did for valentines day last year. I'll put some in the mail right away!
This is such a great idea!!

You know, no one has mentioned stamps! I think if anyone would like to add stamps it would be a great idea and much appreciation by the soldiers. Thanks for your help Karin.

Thanks,
Karen

I have a ton of V cards that I will not be needing. Most have a matching envie, but a few do not, is this ok?

I will send out tomorrow, already packed them up - bless you for doing this!

Karen,
If you are thinking about giving the stamps to the soldier, they may not need them. Double check with the customer, but I don't think soldier mailing stuff from Iraq have to pay postage. I know my DH didn't when he was there.

Would we have time to hold our own workshops? I was thinking of 2 cards of 5 designs then they could donate half the cards to the soldiers, but is there time to do that. You had said you need to send them by the 8th, so I guess you'd need them by the 1st of the year?

My husband was in Afghanistan and did not have to pay postage to mail letters or cards back either, they should not have to either.

Default 800 Valentines for troops in Iraq

Thank you, thank you, thank you. My friend is going to talk to the customer today, the customer's husband is stationed in Iraq so I will be able to find out about the postage! The package of finished cards will be mailed on January 10, 2005. Our workshop with the customer is on the 8th of January. I hope this will give those of you wanting to host your own workshops time to accomplish them. My friend and I are overwhelmed by your generosity. Thanks to you all.

Default 800 Valentines for troops in Iraq

I have spoken with our customer who wants to do the Valentines for her DH troop. We do not need postage. The troops do not have to pay for postage back to the US. If you have sent postage, we can send it back or we can use it on the outgoing package to Iraq.

I want to thank all of you who have sent the Valentines. We really appreciate your help. We have already recieved some of them.

Thank you again for your generous response.
