Default Help with faux embossing...

Okay, so I finally tried the faux embossing, which I love the look of. I used the snowflake jumbo wheel and rolled it directly onto the ink pads, because I didn't have the colors in the cartridges that I needed. First I rolled night of navy cleaned it and then rolled whisper white on top. I did try lining the seem with the paper and the slightly off the next time. It came out okay but it's not jumping off the paper. Do you have any suggestions and or hints that really make it pop? Thanks in advance. Now I'm kinda re-thinking my Christmas cards (even though I know no one else would notice).

All I can think of is to try a slightly lighter shade of cardstock....maybe the navy ink is just too close in color to allow it to show much.
