Default HELP! DD's teached asked me to

come into her kindergarden class to teach children folds. first of all, i hate public speaking, yes, i know they're just little children, but if i have to speak before more than 4 people, i tend to feel faint. but i will get over it to accomodate the teacher.

however, i know a bunch of fancy folds from this site and other classes i've taken, but i was wondering what would be appropriate to teach children. i figure accordion folding, but anything else?

also, if you have any ideas about how to incorporate folds into a couple super-ez projects (appropriate for 5-6 yo's), please let me know.

thanks!

Wow! They still can be rather uncoordinated at that age. I'll have to refer to my elementary art books and get back with you.

Default Simple folds

I've made simple baskets and "cootie Catchers" with that age and they love it.

thanks for your reply - what exactly is a cootie catcher?

and when you say simple baskets, you mean like the heart baskets?

My daughter's class calls cootie catchers "fortune tellers". Do you remember the folded things? You would put it on your fingers and there would be a word on the outside "flaps". You have the other person pick one of the words and say each letter while opening & closing the "catcher". Inside there are numbers - the person picks one and you count out again - opening & closing the catcher. Then they pick another number and you open a flap that contains some sort of "fortune". Bring back memories???
