Default Have you ever noticed...

When I was out over the weekend making my rounds to Hobby Lobby and Joann's, I noticed the ladies coming out of the stores and the expressions on their faces. Most of them had broad smiles beaming from ear to ear with bags of craft/hobby supplies in their hands. I smiled back in return because like them I get happy and excited about my craft supply purchases.

If you were to spot me going INTO a craft store, you would see that I'm already wearing a smile on my face before I even make my purchases! LOL

I was in Hobby Lobby a few days ago, and there was a little boy pestering his mom, either to leave, or go look at what he wanted, and she said to him, "This is MY toy store, so you're going to have to wait for ME!" It made me laugh. It truly is OUR toy store!!!

So sorry you can't go to your toy stores Sharon. But just think of all the money you are saving up, for when you can go again.

I went into a HL at Christmas time a couple of years ago. A mom came in the door with her 3- or 4-year old daughter as I was waiting in the checkout line. As soon as they got in the store, the little girl threw her arms out wide and said (well more like shouted)"Oh, I love this place!" Everyone at the checkouts cracked up, and I said, "Oh honey, we all feel that way!" Way to go mom, start them early!! LOL!

A Hobby Lobby just opened up in my area so now I have a Michaels and a HL to visit today. I ALREADY have a big smile on my face and the doors don't even open for several hours!!

Locally we have a Joann's, which I go to more often in warmer seasons. I have horrible reflexes, so I have never been able to drive a car. I used a mobility scooter wheelchair all the time in college to get around campus, and I still have one for when I want to get out on my own without hubby. Typically, my first "road trip" in the spring is up to Joann's (about one mile away) with a stop at the local coffee shop on the way back, smiling the whole way! Most years I have to wait until April to do this; hoping for spring to show up early!

My husband and I are retired so many times he would tag along into Hobby Lobby with me and with his "man way" of shopping say "what's on your list and I'll help you find it. Of course his intention was to get me to hurry in and out.
When I compared my shopping experience to his going to a hardware store, he realized that I'm going to look down all the aisles, just as he would if we were in the little local hardware store. Now he's content to wait in the car when I visit Hobby Lobby and he's quick to say "take your time."

My hubby is very understanding about my time in a craft store, even when we are on a road trip. He can usually find a chair to sit in or he stays in the car, if it's not too cold. I do the same for him in wood stores and hardware stores.

Like Kim, I do not always drive well, so often my husband takes me to the craft store. He will go down the aisles with me and find things that "I need" in my craft room. I spend more money when he is along than when I am on my own. But, I do usually like what he sees.

After a day out at stores and such with numerous purchases, of course, my husband will ask me if I got my "endolphin fix" (endorphin fix). Always makes me chuckle.

Oh my gosh .... I'm so sorry you're grounded. I completely understand more than you know. And my DH will not chauffeur to HL, M's, or JA's either unless I can tack that on to a different visit & promise the "just 10 minutes?!?"

Oh, I'm so sorry for you. My husband always asks if I want him to drive me to craft stores. If they are in a mall, he will sit in one of the chairs provided. If not, he will sit in the car to keep it cool or warm and drive by to pick me up at the door---especially if it's raining. I guess I'm really lucky!!!

Just reading this post and imagining going to a craft store makes me smile. This is why I love our hobby. ❤️
