Has anyone successfully stamped with food coloring?
Has anyone successfully stamped with food coloring? If you have, how did you do it, what consistency, what did you use, etc? I have a friend who wants to stamp on a cookie and needs details. Thanks!
I have a link to a web store called Stamp On This.... www.stamponthis.com
They used to sell special products for decorating cakes and cookies with stamps. But I just popped over there and cannot find the right stuff. Just keep googling and you will find what you want to know.
You can use the Wilton coloring paste. Michaels sells some colors. I have done this. I spread a very thin layer on paper toweling and used that as my stamp pad.
It worked very well.
Wilton has a TON of products and many colors for paste. HINT: If you use red - get the NOtaste red they make.
I used to teach cake decorating and although never did teach this in my classes what I find works best is to use paste food coloring. The best thing to do is make yourself an ink pad using layers of paper towel, those little makeup sponges or even an empty ink pad. You can then stamp on to fondant or dried royal icing. Wilton also sells food grade coloring markers. Never used them on a stamp but they might also work.
I should add a disclaimer that you are supposed to use brand new stamps AND wash them with anti-bacterial soap before starting any food stamping from what I have read.
