After multiple attempts and far too many minutes, I finally had a beautiful bold sentiment heat embossed to perfection. I put it aside to finish the card later. I pick my daughter up from school, we have lunch, and our usual routine is I let her watch one tv show while I clean up, etc. Well, we were running a bit late today so it was time for my son's bus to come and her program hadn't finished. I left her on the couch to go out to the driveway for the bus.
A little while later I happen to walk by my stamping desk and something catches my eye....a big mess of white pigment ink!!!!! She had taken a stamp, put it on my stamp press upside down, inked it up with white PIGMENT ink, and inked up the foam feet of the press in the process. Then she stamped directly over my perfectly embossed sentiment!!!! WAAAAAAH!! And wouldn't you know not a spot of ink on her! Unbelievable!!! You know I probably won't be able to get it just right again! Just wanted to vent to someone who would "get" it . LOL
LOL! At least I am not the only one I had to leave the room because I was nearly ready to lose it. Lots of breathing was done! She is usually very good around my stuff, but she must have gotten daring today! I will NEVER leave an ink pad out on my desk again! And yes, definitely lots of stories to remember.
I did end up being able to make a replica tonight, although I don't think it is as perfect as that ruined one! HA
Thanks for sharing and for the laugh. You know that when you make something that get ruined, the replica is never (in your opinion) as good as the original.
Just think, you've learned something new today - put your inks pads away! And put your half completed projects into a box or ziplock or something to keep it safer..

I feel for you. MY DD11 has an amazing eye for color and design. Once I worked on something for almost an hour trying to get it just right. She came over stamped a few things - GORGEOUS!
If I were you I'd frame that beauty to remind her of how talented she was at this lovely age!!
