Yep, I've done it before. You just need to remember that when embossing items other than paper that the item usually gets hot so you better have something to hold onto it with!
Isn't it wonderful when you learn something new . I have been playing here all morning also. We aren't getting snow but rain, dreary rain. So far I have made 5 cards and posted them, plan on keep playing.
I love doing line images that way b/c then when you color with a Sharpie it won't muddy the lines-the dragonfly from Cute as a Bug is really cute this way!
Stolyn I felt nothing-I probably thought it was my 3 yo jumping around! (Kate lives round teh corner from me )

I might get out my dominos today, too. I'm right up the road from you. Did you feel the earthquake yesterday? Happy Snowy Stamping!!!
YUP! Having lived in CA as a kid I remember all too well what an earthquate feels and sounds like!
Windows rattles and that loud roar and my first thought was a plane taking off and then - WAIT I live near the airport but not THAT close - we jsut had a temor!!!
AS for dominoes - I ahve another question....
I stamped 5 sets yesterday - and a couple are smearing - 18 hours later???? The on I heat set is even smearing - any clues why? This ahs NEVER happened before..... hmm.....
Should I pop them in teh toast oven and BAKE them?????
I have been watching the threads on dominoe stamping and have a question. What do you do with the dominoes after they are stamped? What do you use them for? Certainly NOT for the game!
Thanks,

You can make Fridge magnets, pins, and I make photo holders..... here is the link to one in my gallery:
Also do a gallery Search on "dominoes" - LOTs of samples - here is the link - if my links don't work its in the gallery under "anything but a card" "game pieces"
I'm doing a domino stamp camp in April and I've been "boning up" on the subject (ha, ha, pun intended. If you don't get it, dominoes are sometimes called bones because that is what the first ones were made of. But, I digress . . .). Faster and easier than bleaching your dominoes overnight, you can paint them with Gesso, which is a canvas preparing medium. After that, you can stamp them with any type of ink, remembering to heat set in between each "layer" of ink.
Ann2 asked what you do with them. I'm planning a fridge magnet, a Christmas tree ornament, a card and a necklace, or a pin.
I was at Wal-Mart last night and found a tin of 28 dominoes for $2.50. They are smaller and thinner than regular dominoes and are better for a necklace, since they weigh less. They also have tins of 28 "regular" size dominoes for $3.96. One other suggestion for smaller, more lightweight tile stamping is Rummikub tiles. You have to find an old game, though, because the new ones are imprinted on two sides.

HELP - what kind of dominoes & are tile directions the s
Sorry  I may have missed this, but what kind of dominoes do you buy? I have seen the old wooden kind, but also the white shiny harder variety (not sure what they are made of). Also, if you stamp with stazon on tiles, do you follow the same directions (bleaching, etc.)???

I buy the white ones - wooden tends to absorb the ink oddly.
As for bleaching - nope - wipe them off and start stamping!
Wow! I am relatively new to this site and I can't believe I found some other people from Severna Park! How cool. I am trying to play with all of my stamping stuff today also. I wish I had some dominoes. I may have to venture out and get some. Where is the best place to find them?? Heather
